Since we are talking techincal perfection over emotional, the list does not necessarily match up to my all time favorites. Children of Men Fellowship of the Ring The Godfather Tangled Raiders of the Lost Ark Dark Knight Fiddler on the Roof Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind Goodfellas The Fisher King Well perfection is subjective, so perfect in a movie probably means something different for you Yeah, a perfect movie to me is one that does everything I want it to do perfectly. That does not mean it is flawless though as there may be some who don;t act to the pinnacle or the effects are tip top or there may be a minor story issue. Empire Strikes Back was one of my all time favorite movies for a very long time despite a bunch of things I considered far from perfect in technical or artistic ways. That didn't matter because it still had me going "Wow" at the end of it and I watch it repeatedly to this day.

These are the movies where there isn't anything that I dislike about them - which I guess could be interpreted as me finding them 'perfect' (though I know others would disagree)...
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977).
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980).
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983).
Superman (1987).
The Untouchables (1987).
Jurassic Park (1993).
True Lies (1994).
The Lion King (1994).
GoldenEye (1995).
The Frighteners (1996).
Sleepy Hollow (1999).
The Ninth Gate (1999).
Gladiator (2000).
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001).
Casino Royale (2006).
The Dark Knight (2008).
The extended editions of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest (2009).
There are probably others I've forgotten, but those^ are the ones which immediately spring to mind.

Just listing my 10/10's straight up there are only nine movies which are... -Gran Torino (2008) -Lord of War (2005) (NOTE: this director has some other quality movies... Gattaca(1997)/S1m0ne(2002)/Good Kill(2014-2015)(7/10)/In Time(2011)(6-6.5/10)) -Open Range (2003) -Road to Perdition (2002) (NOTE: outside of this movie Skyfall(9/10)/Spectre(7.5-8/10) are the only other movies worth mentioning from this director) -Training Day (2001) (NOTE: this director is a one-hit-wonder for me as everything else he did is forgettable) -Braveheart (1995) -Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) -The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) -For a Few Dollars More (1965) but in terms of 'masterpiece' level (a word I rarely use), which tends to require some strong visuals etc, that list would shrink. but when I think 'masterpiece' I tend to think Road to Perdition (2002) as that combines everything (visuals/score/moments etc) really well. I guess I could probably include some others on that list but some definitely would not qualify like Road to Perdition does as I tend to sort of look for a certain thing when I think of 'masterpiece' term. but in terms of movies that are more visually oriented... I could list some movies in the 7/10 or 8/10 or 9/10 group but I won't for now especially since you asked for 'perfect' as I would have to assume that means 10/10's only.
-----------------------------
for The Ninth Gate/Gladiator/Casino Royale. the first two are within my Top 56 movies and the 3rd is within my Top 26.
The Ninth Gate is definitely underrated as it's my #1 Polanski movie and my 2nd favorite Johnny Depp movie behind Blow (2001)(9/10).

All three you mentioned are ones I've watched a number of times and have never gotten tired of (as are the others on my list). I definitely agree with your thoughts regarding The Ninth Gate.

Chalice_Of_EvilExactly. I have re-watched each of those quite a few times to and I don't get tired of them either although Gladiator did drop off a bit for me on my most recent re-watch in Dec 2015 as it was a 9/10 and is now a 8/10 (while I always liked Braveheart (1995)(10/10) more, the gap widened after Gladiator dropped to a 8/10. but I will say that visually Gladiator has more flair but I think Braveheart is definitely more enjoyable overall as Gisbon's passion really boosts that movie). hopefully when I re-watch Gladiator within the next year or two it does not drop off any further. also, I think ill add this... I think Gladiator is noticeably more popular with the masses than something like Alien is (I just compared to the two since they are from the same director) which seems to get more praise around IMDb/IMDb2 even though Gladiator is ranked a bit higher in the Top 250 (i.e. #47 vs #52) but I think in terms of mass appeal I would expect it to not be as close as the IMDb Top 250 makes it out to be as I would guess that Gladiator would win by a comfortable margin, say something like 7 out of 10 people would take Gladiator over Alien but I am just speculating here a bit but it just seems about like that to me even though looking at IMDb/IMDb2 it almost seems the other way around. but anyways... the other two [Casino Royale/The Ninth Gate] have been pretty steady for me for years. although I will add that it does take a while before Casino Royale hit's it's stride as it's nearly 1hr into the movie before it does which is about the time Eva Green shows up as I think she shows up somewhere around 55min. Casino Royale (2006) is my 2nd favorite James Bond movie behind Skyfall (2012). both are a 9/10 and within my Top 26 movies. NOTE: although, from memory, given my most recent viewing of Casino Royale (in Dec 2015) I won't be too surprising if it loses it's 9/10 status on my next viewing even though it's possible it may still retain it. Skyfall on the other hand has generally increased with additional viewings for me... 7.5-8/10(1st viewing), to a 8/10(2nd viewing), to a 8-8.5/10(3rd viewing), to a 9/10(4th viewing). it was my 4th viewing of Skyfall when it slightly overtook Casino Royale for me. as for The Ninth Gate... I think it's easily Polanski's #1 his more praised movies (The Pianist/Rosemary's Baby/Chinatown etc) are quite overrated as the only movies of his worth mentioning in my book are... The Ninth Gate(8/10) and Carnage (7/10), with Venus in Fur(6-6.5/10) being a honorable mention. p.s. my most recent re-watch of Casino Royale is Dec 6th 2015 and The Ninth Gate is Aug 16th 2015. since I tend to re-watch all movies I score a 7/10 or higher at least once every few years or so that probably means they will be re-watched either sometime later this year or no later than sometime next year.

Agree 100% about the Ninth Gate. It is Polanski's best film and a masterpiece. From the story, characters, locales, being open to different interpretations, it has endless replay value.
