La Liga have agreed a multi-year deal to play a standard league match during the season in either the US or Canada.
Won't be long before EPL clubs are falling over each other for a slice of that cash🤦

I will take a wild guess here and predict that we won't be seeing Alaves vs Getafe on this side of the ocean any time soon. It will be Real Madrid and Barcelona alternating between them (but never both at the same time).
EPL will certainly follow. Wasn't there talk of the EPL doing the same in Asia some time ago?

Don't see anything wrong with that. Home teams get 19 games a season for league matches alone. Doesn't matter if one or two less home games contribute to wider fame of football. There may also be some genuine fans out there in US & Canada who may like the experience.

No different than the NFL having real games in London and Mexico City.

I'm wondering who are the home teams that are gonna give up their home games. The smallest attendance at home team I suppose whoever that is. You wont be getting a RM or Barca giving up a home game for this carry on, the fans would go nuts.

Of that, I have no doubt. I just don't like the extra travel when it involves the teams I root for. I'm selfish like that.

Doesn't look like any other team. Player reps have met from all La Liga clubs, and have said they will go on strike to stop it if need be.

First Spanish league game to be played in the USA will be Barcelona vs Girona on January 27th in Miami.
