The Parent Trap (1961 film) This has always been a fun Disney favorite of mine especially with it's upbeat yet clever theme song sung by Annette Funicello and Tommy Sands . The other catchy tunes were also sung by Annette Funicello . Also with the rest of these fine music scores were quite relaxing and a bit upbeat fun throughout the film as well . An excellent and unforgettable all-star cast also . I definitely gave this classic gem a vote of 10 here too . Thanks so much maxwellperfect for your subject post .

I try not to rate movies. I saw it in it's original realease in 1961 at a drive-in in Long Island. I was 11 years old.
It contained my new favorite song at the time, 'Let's Get Together', which I thought was the greatest song ever made.
I don't believe I ever saw it again, nor did I see the remake, but I have to tell you that at least once a month since I was 11, I hear 'Let's Get Together' in my head.

THE PARENT TRAP PART I 6/10 THE PARENT TRAP PART II is quite funny and the performances are decent, except for Carrie Kei Heim's. The song LET'S KEEP WHAT WE'VE GOT by Marilyn McCoo is bad. There are many reasons why this sequel feels inferior: -There's a big difference between coming up with a secret plan to make 2 strangers meet and fall in love and coming up with a secret plan to make a divorce couple re-encounter and fall in love again. Some feelings never go completely away, but you can't force those feelings to appear in the first place. -There's a big difference between 2 daughters making their parents get together in order to fix their broken family and 2 daughters making their parents get together due to personal inconveniences. -There's a big difference between 13-year-olds doing something like this and a 40-year-old doing something like this. Especially if said 40-year-old agrees to collaborate immediately after listing the reasons why the plan is wrong. -There's a big difference between lying to your parents and releasing the ropes from the boat in which you parents are (so they can be alone) knowing that they don't know how to sail. The movie almost redeems itself when Sharon tries to give Susan and the girls a taste of their own medicine, but everything is ruined when all the main characters find out about... well, everything. Why are they taking everything as a fun game?! It's actually a fucked up situation! Best bad movie THE PARENT TRAP PART III 1/10 THE PARENT TRAP PART IV: HAWAIIAN HONEYMAN 3/10 THE PARENT TRAP 1998 7/10 ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog.I try not to rate movies. Why are you on this thread then? 😜
