Amazing to watch how Hollywood cannibalizes itself due to a lack of European creative involvement.
They got so much money and yet so little imagination.

Honestly though, they probably could use the Blum touch. Reel back the megasized budgets for these movies.

He could probably do it solidly but if I were him I'd pass.

Noooooooooo. Let this stay dead. I actually like the idea of a revived Universal Monsters franchise. But it mustn't be a blockbuster type series. We already had something like that with The Mummy remake(s) and Van Helsing.

I'm surprised to see so many people are against this. It's not like the market has been inundated with these characters lately. I guess nobody's interested in them anymore.

Seeing them revived but like in the style of Crimson Peak or The VVitch would be cool. A classy Gothic interpretation would help stand it out from the likes of The Conjuring or IT and all their knockoffs.

I was excited about The Dark Universe. After The Mummy bombed, what do they have to lose now?

They should’ve gone the route of low budget horror films in the first place.

They should’ve gone the route of low budget horror films in the first place. Before they did the first Stephen Sommers Mummy in 1999, Clive Barker approached Universal with the same approach.

They should’ve gone the route of low budget horror films in the first place. Why would you want something to look cheap? Christ, classic monsters could be awesome with today's tech.

Apparently he also wants to take over the 'Alien' franchise and I am all in favour of that if it means bringing Ripley back 'cause the movies haven't been anywhere near as good without the main star.
