I think they're trying to retcon Iron Man 3 because of how badly it screwed things up. Tony even got the Arc Reactor back in his chest in Infinity War. Not an arc reactor he says it's place to hold the nanites. It looks like one and it may as well be one. It's only there to retcon/ignore the events of Iron Man 3.

Well i was reading The raptors darknet v2 troll (homicide reports dossier) observatory thread before it got closed. And i managed to read some aftermath of the DCfan doxxing drama and apparently Formersamhd said he was duped by DaisyB into using the picture of DC fans passed away brother. But formersamhd said he didnt know it was his dead brother, he thought it was DC fan himself but daisyB knew all along. He could be lying of course but i dont know. The fact he went to extreme lengths to hunt down DC fans facebook profile anyway and stalk it is worrying enough and behaviour linked with psychosis. So in the end only he really knows the truth. If DC fan is humble enough to say he didnt want formersamhd banned then I cant argue with that.

It's only there to retcon/ignore the events of Iron Man 3.L Well looks like one is different than what it really is. It's strictly there to store the nanotech suit. He even mentioned to Pepper that he had the surgery, so clearly, the events of Iron Man 3 weren't ignored. And Tony only has it in case something bad happens and he can react quicker versus if he didn't have access to a suit. Not to mention, it's a lot safer too than when it was in his heart where deactivating or destroying it would kill him, wherein now, it just disables to suit but won't kill him.

Not to mention, it's a lot safer too than when it was in his heart where deactivating or destroying it would kill him, wherein now, it just disables to suit but won't kill him. It would also be Retconning Civil War too. Tony said he got the surgery and blew up his suits in that one too. So why would they retcon 2 movies? Plus he already had the metal cup there. In IM3 it didn't show them removing that. They would have to regrow synth tissue, bone and skin.(like with Hawkeye in AoU) Wouldn't be surprised if someone like Tony would think of the housing for the nanites before the surgery. The man is always looking to upgrade something. Edit: Also for a film making pov it's good to have that it there for visual confirmation. It's the reverse Chekhov's Gun. "If in the first act you have hung a pistol on the wall, then in the following one it should be fired. Otherwise don't put it there." The reverse of that is if a gun is going to be fired you must show it first. To have a Nanites (something new) form the suit and come from somewhere you better show where they come from first. Establish it in a prior scene. (They did the same thing for Black Panther's new suit)

We see in IW that Tonys suit is now so advanced he can cauterize wounds using nano tech. From IM3 his suit can also perform diagnostics and body health scans. Its basically a portable 100 in 1 hospital. Yet theres no indication in any of the films that he has shared this tech to poorer people. Similar to Wakandans who selfishly held their vibranium tech away from the developed and civilised world, at least they changes when Killmonger pointed out their flaws. Instead of focusing all his time on creating the Iron Legion (which ended up in Ultron) why isnt he more humanitarian in his approach? But this is a problem in all comics. Not just MCU.
If you followed the story through to any logical conclusion Tony Stark, Reed Richards, Bruce Banner, Hank Pym and T'Challa's sister Shuri alone could save the entire world with their genius and inventions! Even if only to create a defense system to protect the world from invading space ships. Tony knew it was coming. Instead of robots, which are offensive, how about a force field, which is defensive? You know, like the one around Wakanda? Just sayin.
Anyway, its not a criticism; its just a trope in comic stories, which seems to be rearing its ugly head in the movies too.

But they should learn from those flaws, and the biggest culprit is Stark who in the movies is shown to be unable to keep his word and learn from past mistakes. but xavier never learns from his big mistakes, like believing in segregation. him giving up to preserve dents image was silly too becase he dint have to do that either. Tell us more.
