Has anyone seen this yet? Is it creepy or at least worth watching? Or is it over hyped and boring like It Comes at Night?

It's got 7.6 from 43k votes, so it could be legit.

Hell yes. It's one of the best horror films I've seen in recent memory. Just be advised: it's a slow-burner and less reliant on jump scares and shocks than it is psychological horror.

Worth a watch for sure. I thought it was over-hyped, and I hated the ending, but it's got great atmosphere. Toni Collette's performance is reason alone to watch. If she doesn't get an Oscar nod, I'm calling shenanigans on the whole thing.

To answer my own query, yes it was worth watching. I would have preferred a bit less overwrought family drama and several "twists" I saw coming way too early considering all the praise the movie received but it was genuinely creepy and unsettling. Also THAT scene was unexpected and actually made me exclaim "Damn!" out loud.

One other thing and I hope this doesn't come across as too mean. Did the sister creep anyone else out even before anything happened? She had an odd look about her. Almost like a dwarf or that old lady in Don't Look Now.

Thoroughly enjoyed the movie, especially the ending.

Almost like a dwarf or that old lady in Don't Look Now. The actress definitely has some kind of facial deformity (not sure if that’s the right word). I think she has the same condition as Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin in Stranger Things).

That was unnerving. So much creepiness it's hard to pick for me. The score was one of the most effective I've heard in a while.

I hated it. I can't decide if it usurps The Sentinel as The Worst Horror Film I have ever seen.
Just got back from The Nun. Much better.
Looking forward to Hellfest & Overlord.(Fitz!!!!)

I haven't seen it, but I can't imagine it's the worst horror movie you've seen. If so you've missed a shit load of horror movies over the years. On the other hand, Mark Kermode's review of The Nun was pretty entertaining. Granted he didn't agree with you. I cant imagine it's thaaaat bad (he really tears into it), but it did look pretty fucking weak.

The bad usually falls into the so-bad-it's-good category, but not Hereditary The whole thing felt like it was filtered. The initial accident was ridiculous. The whole party was ridiculous. Have you seen The Sentinel?

So you hate the Conjuring movies? Because I said The Nun was much better Not as good as The Conjuring, but better. The Nun felt a little overload at the end, but it kept my interest & wasn't stupid. Outside of I kept thinking "what the hell are these guys running around AT NIGHT when they know there are spirits involved?" That was just asking for demon crap. Stay in your room with 20 crosses.

A guy on the old site told me he and his brother made dozens of crosses from cardboard while watching Ghostwatch the first time it was shown live. They put them on every door and window hoping to stave off Pipes the ghost. If you're familiar with Ghostwatch you might be as amused as I was.

When I was younger, I also saw stuff. Since I got married the only times I had any experiences was around mom. So I can't watch ghost movies at night

Watched it last night. It was great!
It doesn't follow any of the more typical horror cliches, it zigged and zagged unexpectedly, leaving you even more invested and on edge. It is a slow burner, but it delivers. Some things I've never seen in a horror movie before. Will definitely be watching for this young director's (Air Aster) next movie.
