I don’t find Supes to be menacing.

Superman, I mean it's red, silly as it sounds but that just works better for the fear factor and shit, I mean would the start of the hallway scene in Rogue One be as ominous if Vader ignited a blue lightsabre? green maybe, purple no not for Vader, for SLJ maybe, but the red just works better imo.

You seem to have misunderstood the question, it wasn't which one is or is not scary, but which is scarier, neither need to be for one to be more so than the other, would be like asking me which would I prefer to he jerked off by a hand cupping broken glass or receiving an acid colonic, I wouldn't want neither but if I had to choose...you get the point.

It's easy where does the power of their stare comes from. Superman's come from his Kryptonian DNA reacting to Earth's Yellow Sun. Thor's comes from his Asgardian DNA, his ties to the Asgardian Throne/People, and then Odin Force after Dad died. The real winner is Sam Jackson because:

Superman. It's not just the stare but the entire scene. The idea that an all powerful being like Superman can turn to evil is disturbing. One of my favorite moments in BVS.

Thor - no offense to Clark.
Drop a large bowling ball of Kryptonite on Clark's chest and he's as useful as a soggy toothpick. Thor doesn't really have, to my knowledge, any Kryptonite-like weaknesses (well, I mean maybe Loki). Plus, technically, if you got Clark out of the sun for long enough and you restrained him in a lead-walled room with some kryptonite blocks in it, he can't do anything. You put Thor in that same room, he can still mess you up. [Plus, Loki would probably show up and them chaos happens. Clark, sadly, doesn't have a brother. He does have a dog in some versions, or Lois, or his cousin, or the Justice League- and I wouldn't mess with Wonder Woman... or Batman, for that matter.]

It should be Superman but between those two actors and the way they handle their characters, it's Thor.
It should be Superman.

Thor's powers include a magic base. Plus he also has other powers His mama is the earth goddess

But yeah Thor could kick the crap out of Superman under the right circumstances, but then Superman can wield Mjolnir and take Thors power for his own and batter the crap out of Thor...depends on who the writer likes more.

Writer's bias will always favor Superman, as he's DC's flagship character and probably the most well-known superhero whereas Thor is just some B or even C list character. In a completely unbiased narrative, a single hit from Mjolnir should outright kill Superman... as long as Thor could actually hit him that is.
