Michael Jackson. Would love to see what he'd come up with in his music videos with the tech available now.
Meh. I doubt that he would have ever done anything of much significance again.
He was a pathetic has been and mostly the butt of jokes before he did. And then he died and suddenly everybody's a huge fan.

In terms of missing his music I'd go with Freddie Mercury. In terms of being way too young to go Richie Valens (still a kid).
Wow. Valens wasn't even 18. I didn't know he was that young. It's impressive what he did manage to accomplish in his short life.

Good question. I think you'd have to go with someone young to see what direction they'd take their music. Cobain is the obvious choice.

^^^ That right there is another reason why I pick my late beautiful precious Steve Sanders of the Oak Ridge Boys. His story ended at age 45 and because being in a group is where his voice was the last time that it was heard, we will never know how a solo career would've gone for him afterwards.
God bless you and those who have loved him longer than me always!!!
Holly
P.S. Before being in that group, there were six solo albums from him, but they were done while still in his teens. One more album was done at the age of 22 while being a part of an act named Pyramid and even though the leading of every song was done by him, that is the only other album where we get to hear him sing every song. His voice changed so much after that album was done.

I agree there are a lot of awesome choices here folks . IMPO - If I could pick just one memorable musician
who no longer walks this earth
( and would want to come back - his decision of course )
for me at the moment
would be this fine and uniquely talented singer / musician - Jeff Buckley .
This was one of my favorite songs from his very last album - GRACE .
Thanks so much NxNWRocks for your subject post .

Can I add one more person? Its been three years now since my late beautiful precious Billy Joe Royal went forward.
God bless you and those who have loved him longer than me always!!!
Holly (still forever wishing that I had discovered him sooner)
P.S. Yes, this song is the song that the Deep Purple act did a year later.
