I like the premise and I like Melissa McCarthy, but it looks like a lot of the jokes are vulgar for the sake of being vulgar. I might see it in theaters but i'm not sure yet.

Probably not in theaters, but I'll rent it for sure. I like Melissa McCarthy. I think it looks hilarious, just lowbrow and dumb escapism.

I can’t say i’m surprised. This was one of those films that languished in development hell and went through different actors with one point starring Jamie foxx. Usually a film like this does not get received well if it’s been through this process.
I think also people are just tired of Melissa Mccarthy’s schtick. It’s the same thing she does in every movie, except this time just with a puppet.

At best, a Redbox rental. The "string" released by a puppet at the end of the trailer told me everything that was needed to know.

I'm curious to see what they do with the weird premise. I don't know if I'm curious enough to go to the cinema for that, though.

I saw it today. I enjoyed it for what it was, a twisted, perverse, over the top fun time.

Very glad to hear it bombed. There is some sanity left in the world after all.
And I saw the trailer. Embarrassingly unfunny.

Or just no desire to extend it.

Narsty muppets. It's not even original. Calling it the worst movie of the year is probably the usual overheated hyperbole, but it's a real safe bet it isn't going to be the best movie of the year.

I do think most of her comedies though are repetitive and written weakly since Bridesmaids.
