Hilarious still you've taken from John Landis' 'Into The Night' with fitness trainer Jake Steinfeld. I hope Vera Miles has a fantastic birthday.

Vera was a favorite of Directors Ford (SEARCHERS & LIBERTY VALANCE) and Hitchcock (WRONG MAN & PSYCHO).
Hitch wanted to cast her in the Kim Novak role in VERTIGO -- but she got inconveniently pregnant and wasn't available.

I've seen three new views in the last year or so with Vera Miles, 'though minor offerings for fans. autumn leaves (1956) is classic Joan Crawford romance melodrama, but only features a minor appearance by Miles. 23 paces to baker street is poor man's Alfred Hitchcock with Miles wasted in a Grace Kelly like role. hellfighters (1968) is a second rate John Wayne actioner.
So I've yet to see a good showing by her in anything other than the John Ford and Hitchcock movies. In the FBI story (1959) she plays one of those dreary subordinate wife roles for star James Stewart.
I keep looking, 'cause she is definitely a favorite actress; wichita (1955) and beau james (1957) sound promising?

Happy Birthday, Ms. Miles. Thank you for bringing us your great performances and your pure class. Oh, just one more thing. Thank you for one of the better episodes of “Columbo”.
