I like it honestly. It's different from the usual picks and it's a ballsy one too!

Nope. She could be Xi'an Chi Xan, though.

yeah....no I am okay with race bending but not gender bending. Why not? It's a brilliant idea! xavier and magneto are masculine characters with a lot of male instincts they act like men, talk like men, think like men. gender bending them will take that away stupidly

Xavier can still run a school, teach students and still be a powerful psychic. Being a woman wouldn't change any of that. Same with Magneto.

yeah....no I am okay with race bending but not gender bending. Why not? It's a brilliant idea! Because they're male characters. It's as lame as all the talk about having a female for James Bond. If MCU wants more female characters, then create new characters instead of gender-swapping male characters. DC started with Superman and Batman. Then Professor Marston created Wonder Woman. Filmation had a Shazam! TV show that was very popular among young boys. They wanted a female superhero TV show for young girls. So they created a brand new female superhero, Isis.

But why? The X-men roster already has a number of main female characters that can easily be made into the front focus of the movies. There's really no need for gender bending.

Question: have you ever heard Chris Claremont speak on gender politics? If you have, the "why" of your question becomes rhetorical.

I don't get the hate for the idea of a female James Bond. I think that would be a fun idea to explore.
