I said that every truther I have ever seen is a Democrat, which is true. Also, a lot of my patients do have mental health issues. Back in the GWB days, we had an alarming number of Democrats who believed Bush/Cheney masterminded 9/11. Today, those same people are seeing Russians under every bed. Rinse & repeat. Trump himself has admitted the Russians influenced the elections. Well, he denied it in front of Putin out of fear, but the next day he corrected himself and said he believes they tinkered with the election. Just out of curiosity, how do you feel about Manafort and Cohen? Trump is surrounded by criminals, what are the odds? I seem to remember you talking about Bill Clinton, "Walking around the oval office with his pants around his ankles." So you're cool with Trump having affairs with porn stars and paying out hush money to keep them quiet? Hell, I'm not going to condemn him for that, I still get a kick out of Kennedy stories. Infidelity certainly isn't cool, but then I've never used it to prove the moral superiority of one party or candidate over another. Just wanted to know where you stand. I guess it's not the same because it happened before he was elected? That must be your angle, right?

To continue on this one I see crazy Republicans all of the time and they give the rest of us a bad name. I have a lot of patients who love Trump and they know I support him so they always come and strike up a conversation with me. It starts normal enough. We talk about the good things he is doing with the economy, for instance. Then it always goes off the rails. They start with their crazy theories on Obama being a Muslim or the anti-Christ or something. The crap is nutty. There are nuts on both sides of the aisle. I always admit that. I actually had one guy tell me the other day that Trump was Jesus risen again to save us from our sins. He says he met him before and he felt the presence of God in him. Crazy talk. You drift into hyperbole at times, but at least you're honest. You've admitted Trump is a (your words) "clown" who "says stupid stuff," which is more than some people around here are willing to admit. I take issue with the idea that as long as Wall Street is going strong, the President can say anything he wants, (Because A. Wall Street alone is not the economy. B. When you're stoking the flames of racial divide and alienating our foreign allies, it negates whatever positive effect you're having on the economy by tearing apart the fabric of American ideals and weakening our global political and economic position. C. It's just crass and not becoming a US President, period.) but I can understand where you're coming from. It's the devout Trump followers who blindly argue any negative comments made against him that concern me. There are party lines (which as an independent voter I don't have to worry about) and then there is fanaticism to the point where all critical thinking goes out the window. Avoid going down that road at all costs.

Trump himself has admitted the Russians influenced the elections. Which is entirely different from Trump and the Russians working together to influence the election. If the same scrutiny was applied to everyone is Washington, half the government would (rightly) be in jail. I don't particularly like it, but these are the days we live in. I'm pretty sure I only bring up Bill Clinton walking around the oval office with his pants around his ankles when a forgetful lib clutches their pearls in moral outrage over Trump's infidelities.

You didn't specify. Though taking meetings with Russians to get dirt on Hillary isn't a good look. (And honestly, you didn't need to look that far to get dirt on Hillary.) With your second point, I completely agree half of Washington should be in jail; with Trump leading the way. He constantly changes his story regarding every controversy from Russia to Cohen on a regular basis, it's almost like he has something to hide. It's strange to me that his supporters are still chanting 'lock her up' about a defeated, irrelevant political opponent while turning a blind eye to the illegal activity surrounding Trump at all times. On your third point, I can't decide who made the bigger mistake. I'll go Clinton because he thought he could keep some nobody like Lewinsky quiet with a wink and a smile (amongst other things), while I honestly believe Trump never thought he'd be elected President someday. I wonder if Bill Clinton still reads over the Starr report and thinks Trump is facing too much scrutiny? Thanks for your candor.

This is pretty hyperbolic right here if you ask me. This is just rhetoric from the left to discredit everything Trump does. Trump mysteriously became racist right around November of 2016. If anything, I can argue with solid validity that Obama created more of a racial divide in this country than any other President, but then would I be jumping into hyperbole again?

Nothing in Trump's policies or the way he has handled his Presidency so far even remotely hints that he is racist except for the completely overblown reactions to the smallest things by the left. By all accounts, as long as you are a legal American, Trump is all for it.

Nothing in Trump's policies or the way he has handled his Presidency so far even remotely hints that he is racist except for the completely overblown reactions to the smallest things by the left. By all accounts, as long as you are a legal American, Trump is all for it. First of all, I said stoking the fires of racial divide. Secondly, none of what you just said is true. His divisive rhetoric continues to this day, rhetoric that revolves around race without him even having to say the words. Just look at his reaction to the anthem protests. He (and you along with him) pretend not to understand what the protests are even about. This conversation is a waste of time. There are plenty of reasons I don't venture onto the politics board, not the least of which are people who are in complete denial. You said Trump 'suddenly became racist in November 2016,' so I showed you his false racial narrative started well before his Presidency. You then switched your argument to, 'Well, that isn't the way he's governed,' which again is complete nonsense. I agree with you about the left being reactionary to trivial things, but this isn't one of them. And the worst part about the constant media barrage is that the public will lose focus on what makes Trump so terrible. It isn't just the incoherent ranting on Twitter that would be embarrassing for a convenience store manager let alone the US President; it's his belief that he's above the law. He threatens to pardon himself; he makes threats about the stock market tanking if he's impeached. He thinks criminals testifying against other criminals should be illegal (because he wonders what else Cohen has said). He tells his followers everything that doesn't come from him is "fake news." The latest: he wants government regulation of google because he says it only reports negative stories about him. We'd laugh and shake our heads if this stuff was coming out of North Korea, but it's the American President! There's no defending anything I brought up in this post, which is why nobody tried. And it's only gotten worse since then. He's an embarrassment and a terrible human being, and you're never going to accept it because you voted for him. As I said, this conversation has been a total waste of time.
