I give it a 9/10. It has great energy, music and dancing. My only real(but minor)complaint is that the high school students look about ten years too old. Olivia Newton John not a great performance, good but not great, but she could look good and sing. Travolta was much better at acting but not at singing, though he was still good there. Interesting mix.
Not a good idea to watch this and then immediately watch Grease 2. It is downright depressing, Grease 2 is such a bad film.

9/10 - I first saw it in the movie theater when I was a kid and loved it. I've watched it countless times since.

9/10. A super fun movie that one should see if for no other reason than the music.
John T. and Olivia Newton John were wonderful together (even though she didn't look 18).

6 out of ten. I read the book [unsure what came first] and I am confused as why it is told by Doody and not either danny/sandy or 'a fly on the wall'.
the sheer amount of non 50's stuff in this movie is embarrassing.

Holy cow, I didn't even know there was a novelization. It was actually a play first. I'm guessing the book came out to cash in on the very popular movie.

I gave it a 10. But I'm also biased from the nostalgia aspect

I had a huge celebrity crush on Olivia Newton-John even before "Grease," but I actually never got caught up in Grease-mania. I liked hearing the songs on the radio, and I watched it on television when they aired it, but that's about it. Haven't watched it in years, though I saw the "One that I want" bit playing before the Katy Perry bio movie a few years back and enjoyed it.

This was after Grease but yeah, she is stunning and can actually sing, too.

5/10 nothing compared to Hair (neither the musical itself, nor the movie adaptation)

Hard to rate.
Saw it on Broadway before I saw the movie. Loved both back then. Would have given it a 9/10.
Saw it 2 more times on Broadway, once with Rosie O'Donnell, and still liked it, but less so, as it had become somewhat of a play for kids.
Tried to watch it about two weeks ago and couldn't get through it.
The Times, They Are A Changing.

The later broadway one with O'Donnell I thought was horrible. They tried to turn it into a silly slapstick comedy and family friendly. The songs and scenes were out of order and they changed some songs. I wanted to walk out. They butchered it
