clusium So it seems no one is interested in this scandal. This is a thread started by you, with a video in the OP, with a typical clickbait title but without a transcript or summary, and where "pedophilia" is misspelled. In other words: Nothing to see here.

People don't want to admit that the industry which makes the movies and television shows they love so much is run by a ring of pedophiles.

So it seems no one is interested in this scandal. Yeah. I actually knew someone, back when I was a kid, who went to Hollywood & became a movie star, & then years later, said that he had been raped in the industry.

In which case, it seems there's lot of similarities between "Hollywood," whatever that term means, and the RCC who has been covering up child rape and pedophilia for decades and probably far longer. FAR longer than Hollywood has even been...Hollywood.

Yes they were. 10 years ago, they had their own reality show The 2 Coreys, in order to help them get back into the spotlight, after so many years of being out of it. It lasted 2 seasons. The first one was kind of corny & saccharine, & the second one was somewhat more serious & darker tone. The world was led to believe that the 2 of them were the greatest of all friends, but, the show revealed to the world what their "friendship" was really like. You can check it out for yourself on YouTube.com. Put The 2 Coreys into your YouTube search engine, & the entire reality series will come up.

Those priests & Bishops that shielded them, should have been sent to prison.

That's far more difficult to say. It was controversial when Benedict XVI resigned. Yes, but isn’t it MORE contraversial that the leader of the Catholic Church may not only have known about sexual abuse going on in the church, but may actually have been complicit in allowing it to continue by keeping silent, thereby protecting child predators? Wouldn’t it be more contraversial for someone who potentially protected child predators for years to be leading the church than for them to resign?

While I understand where you're coming from, it is still difficult for a layperson, such as myself, to say what should be the best way to deal with it (should it be true). You should read this article here: Allegations Must Be Viewed With Caution

I don’t need to read the whole thing to get the just of it. On the surface, I tend to agree — everyone should be “cautious” when rushing to condemn someone/something based solely on allegations. We agree to this point. My question for you is that IF it turns out that after extensive investigations (internal and external) there is enough evidence to conclude that the allegations are in fact true, should the Pope resign then?

I still am not the one to make that kind of judgement call. Maybe you should ask the UN what the protocol is for world leaders who are involved in some type of coverup for a huge crime, such as pedophilia, rape, etc. I suppose that since Pope Benedict XVI chose to retire, rather than lead the Church, right up to his death (like St. John Paul II did), there could be a sort of precedent for a pope to resign, should he be caught in something as huge as covering up sexual abuse. Bill Clinton managed to serve as US president for 2 terms, despite being shown to be a habitual sexual harasser.
