Just rewatched the 1985 snooker final between Dennis Taylor and Steve Davis. Some things I noticed on this viewing.
Dennis Taylor's spectacles. OMG. It looked as though he had them on upside down ! The early safety play was awesome, as were the escapes, although there were quite a few "air" shots. There wasn't a break worthy of the name in the frame Taylor's potting of the brown, blue and pink was really gutsy. Davis# attempt to pot the black wasn't even close. Nerves, I guess. A terrifically tense frame where I think Taylor's temperament was probably the deciding factor.

1. Those glasses looked really dumb. 2. Steve Davis suffer from nerves? Seems unlikely given how clinically he dismantled opponents year after year.
