He would sell tickets Ewing is a assistant with the Hornets. Off the top of my head, Steve Alford and Bobby Hurley are pretty successful. I didn't know Ewing coached in the NBA. Has he been a head coach anywhere? And, yeah, forgot about Alford. Hurley was good up here at Univ. of Buffalo. Hasn't set the world on fire at ASU. Hey, Pat might be great. But is he the best option? It kind of looks like another Chris Mullin. St. John's did improve last year but they had no where to go but up.

mullin has st. john's playing better. shaka smart would be an interesting hire for g'town. St. John's had nowhere to go but up after 2015-16. There are a lot of one time power programs that have fallen off the face of the Earth. DePaul, Houston, St. John's, UNLV. There are others I'm sure and the programs have seen some good times. All have common denominators, Relatively small schools, is a big city, not in a power conference and sinking after the loss of a big name coach. DePaul is the biggest example. A big winner (and a mighty tournament underachiever) under Ray Meyer, now a joke. Georgetown could join this sad group. I think that's why they sack JTIII. They should go all out and get a big time coach and recruiter. Not sure who that is.

Its all "What have you done for me lately". Ask Tom Crean and Lorenzo Romar. Is the answer in all three cases "Not much" ? At the very least, "Not Enough". I can see canning Crean. His record was unacceptable for one of the storied basketball schools in the country. Not sure about Romar. The Huskies weren't much before him and he can still recriut. You will see evidence of that at the NBA draft. And the Pac-12 was tough this year. But 9-22 is kind of a big number...
