His character is useless. He's a fifth wheel. His entire contribution to the chase is "that looks like a chrysalis." Ten out of ten, Sherlock. None of the others could have sussed that out.
Now, he's apparently a Harvard professor, and I realize they think Sil is dead, but they've been looking for a hot-to-trot alien with one thing on her mind, so he doesn't ask any questions when a woman of roughly the same age inexplicably gets into his hotel room, strips off and launches herself at him? What a moron.

On the other hand, what a way to go.

Absolutely. Everytime he opens his mouth you get the urge to smack him.. not that the other dumbos in that cast are much of an improvement.

Every single character in that film is paper thin. Still though, I like it. Natasha Henstridge was sure ...um, lovely. Good film score also.

Molina is usually good in everything. Like his co-star Ben Kingsley he can play all kinds of different ethnicities and without too much controversy. I can't remember him being standout bad or the way his character was written. I thought as a whole the film is decent. Top notch cast. Must have had a budget to work with. Michelle Williams in an early role as the young Sil. 7/10
