Denmark could pick a side including futsal players against Wales in the Nations League on 9 September. Senior players have refused to sign a new national team agreement with the Danish Football Association (DBU) in a dispute over commercial rights. The 24-man squad is also without Danish Superliga or First Division players. The DBU has confirmed third tier, fourth tier and futsal players will make up the squad for a friendly with Slovakia and then against Wales. Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet reports that Denmark's team will consist of several futsal players, a variant of football played on a hard court and similar to five-a-side but with a smaller and harder ball. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45382474

Why a book at all? Who's in charge, Hareidi or Jensen? Jensen, it seems. Hareidi wants his name out of this drama and won't take any responsibility for team selection for at least the next two games. Giggs will be rubbing his hands together, that's if they don't get too burned by the Irish tomorrow. The early bird punters will be laughing too, getting on Slovakia at 17/10. This truly is the icing on the cake of an abysmal week's card.

This is shit. Wales are gonna be playing against this lot too. And of course we'll be up against Ericson and co when they resolve their problems.

Well, there's a minute's silence for something, I don't know what. Danish football?

Nemic on '11 for one-nothing. The whipped cross came in and the Danish keeper didn't seem to know what to do. He made no attempt to assault either the ball or the player and it was an easy finish for Nemic. But the outfield players of Denmark are by no means there to be made clowns of. They're having a crack, and Giggs will be looking on intently.

Denmark's #11 forces a path into the Slovakian box. He plays a short pass to the #8 who is just on the 6 yard box. He's about to shoot but it's sliced away from his feet by a Slovakian defender for a corner which comes to not much on '22.

#7 streaks into the Slovakian box, sends a square ball across where #9 just fails to connect, but he keeps it in play on the byline and delivers it back into the area. From eight yards out the Danish player sends it over the bar from point blank range.

Oh a delightful one-two between #7 (Kempel) and #10 just outside the box sees #10 fire one off but it's straight at the Slovakian keeper on the half-hour.

The Danish keeper punches away the cross rather than capture it and the Slovakian player (#13) fires off a left-footer that whizzes past the post. The keeper has to go twenty yards there and twenty yards back to retrieve the ball due to the absence of ball boys here.

Almost 2-0 as the Danish keeper gets down well to deny a close range attack by the Slovakian #13. He did well there and -
It's 2-0 now though, as Rusnak finishes off a six-man Slovakian move that started in the centre circle and concluded in the box on '39.

The ref whistles bang on 45:00 and it's a bit more than the Sunday morning 'ackney Marshes Early-To-Bed FC v Still-Hungover-Pissheads FC slaughter that quite a few expected. How hard Slovakia are trying is hard to say but they are being chased for every ball and go in with about two thirds of the possession.

Travis Bickle lookalike, Hamsk, has a chance to make it three from 12 yards on '49. But he blazes it high over the Danish bar and it's still 2-0 here. A teammate casts a wry smile in his direction. Hamsk returns the smile, "Are you lookin' at me?"

It won't be all one way traffic against Wales, in my eyes. Giggs says he doesn't know what to expect from Denmark. After this first half, he'll have some idea, I should think.

An hour gone and Denmark make their second double substitution. I can only recognize one man this time and it's the quite impressive Kempel coming off. He'll be suitably content with his first international cap, I would think.
There's an invasion of the Denmark box on '63. It's a scramble as the keeper first parries an effort and then beats the follow-up Slovakian player to the ball and gathers safely.

Well, so much for the 1/10 2.5 overs. It's now 6/5 they reach 4 match goals here.

Gah, the ball was fed low into the Denmark area on '78 and Fogt could only dink it from 6 yards into his own net when there was no need to even touch it. The Slovakian attacker had mis-hit it sending it in the path of Fogt who instinctively self-potted. The lad will be gutted. 3-0.

It's all over. Three-nothing, and Denmark have hardly been run ragged here. They acquitted themselves admirably, chasing, playing a little deep but always ready for the counter. I think the players have enjoyed it (as much as they can given the circs) and are now milling jovially around the centre circle with the opposing players. The Wales game is now quite an interesting prospect.
