Let's hear it for yet another quality Thursday Night NFL game. We all keep watching tho so are we partially to blame? Looks like we were all brilliant.

Somehow despite the shitty play and shittier officiating the game managed to be exciting in the fourth quarter. Falcons can't play this poorly and expect to be anywhere near playoffs tho. Damn that stadium emptied quickly

Eagles hang on despite that last flag giving Atlanta another chance.

That was a miserable game for us, but we still could’ve easily won. We played an extremely sloppy game and blew numerous oppourtunities, and our only offense basically was Ryan to Julio passes, but victory was still in our grasp. And the officials made repeated terrible calls in favor of the Eagles throughout the game, massive homer crew. An entertaining game but a miserable night for the Falcons, sloppy play, Ryan was off, no offense aside from Julio, poor play calling, but to be honest neither team looked that good.

So... one game into the season and it's already obvious that the catch rule still hasn't been fixed.

Reading this thread is ridiculous to me. Some of you Philly 'fans' just need to take the year off. Philly has an ELITE defense this season. I said it before the game and said that the defense and that offensive line would be the reason Philly would beat Atlanta. It was. Philly DOMINATED the line of scrimmage and they will against all of their opponents this season. Therefore, even when Foles and the rest of the offense is struggling, the team can still fight and win. All of the national 'experts' picked the Falcons. All they mentioned were players like Foles and Jeffrey. Look at the other side of the ball people. The Eagles D is for real. Jones looked amazing out there. Cox looked better than I have ever seen him look and he was already a star player, yet a poster in here called him out for some reason. Hicks is insanely talented and dominated the middle of the field. If he can stay healthy for once, he can be one of the better linebackers in the league. One more player I want to mention on the other side of the ball is Jason Peters. Wow! I actually thought he was done. He is old and often injured and his best days were behind him. Man was I wrong, at least for one game. He manhandled whomever Atlanta lined up across from him. Ugly game, but that is to be expected in week one, especially after this preseason where so little 1s got significant time.

By the way I went to the game. I was on the 45 yard line, lower level, right behind the Eagles bench. They were amazing seats and I had a great time. The place was nuts.

The Eagles' defense especially in the red zone certainly deserves credit, but there's no question that Matt Ryan and Atlanta's supposedly high-octane offense were extremely disappointing. I hope they can turn it around because I enjoy the Falcons when they're on their game, but they need to do a lot better in the red zone, with so many attempts.

I hate the new can't land on the QB rule. Let's outlaw the pass rush to protect the QB even more. You do realize that the NFL put that rule in to protect Golden Boy Brady because his 40+ year old body can't take any hits anymore, right? It's similar to how the NFL changed the rules to protect Golden Boy Brady after he had his knee injury that caused him to miss the 2008 season.

Actually it's because of the hit that Anthony Barr put on Aaron Rodgers last year that broke his collar bone. It was perfectly legal hit by the way. QB's are becoming china dolls and because they are the core of most franchises the owners are trying to protect their investments. To the point of excess in my opinion.

The Falcons played a very weak game to be honest, and yet we still should’ve won. We blew numerous oppurtunites and yet had we just completed a pass in the EZ at the end we would’ve won, the Eagles didn’t look impressive either, Foles looked very subpar. The Falcons offense was disappointing, Ryan was off the whole night, and Julio was the only guy that did anything for us, none of our other weapons made much of an impact at all, and Sark’s play calling was just as shitty as it was last year. Even with our below average outing, we still should’ve won, we had more opportunities and we outplayed the Eagles IMO, the Eagles weren’t impressive for most of the night but their powerful O-Line was finally able to wear down the Falcons defense in the second half.
Losing Neal is a huge blow to the Falcons defense, he’s an excellent safety and one of our better player’s on the defensive side of the ball.
