what would you do in case of a flood? I assume it would be the same height as the Smithfield Street Bridge, which I don’t recall ever flooding. I’m just wondering how much steel and concrete they’d have to use to maintain that weight rating. Seems like a ridiculous amount.

The road to the left of the picture, underneath, would be underwater every spring tho. It usually is.

I know nothing of the physics of architecture, but this seems like a needlessly stupid project. Also, bear in mind the bridge that collapsed in Genoa was just a simple bridge, but was poorly designed and required massive maintenance from day one. And that was just a bridge.

I know a bit...have worked around architects and construction. Near enough to Pittsburgh is Falling Water, which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the 1930s...which is a house that was build overtop a stream. And it still holds up. I feel like this concept was born from that idea.

I feel like that town would flood seasonally...but it sure looks cool when it’s not.

I feel like that town would flood seasonally...but it sure looks cool when it’s not. my first thought was those polar caps from that mountain melting during a warm period. what about icebergs? i can just see a catastrophe sports moving in the making here revolving around this starring Jason Statham as soccer player trying to rescue fans/teammates/his daughter who was in the stands - all while his ex wife and hated new lover are also stranded on the island in chaos. sounds like a great flick.

Give the eventual hoard of homeless under that giant bridge some tents & soup. what would you do if you were homeless? go into a shelter? i think like you stated - i'd just by a tent and hang out from forest to forest. they're relatively cheap on Dick's Sporting Goods.........
