First actor I loved growing up cos of Smokey and the Bandit RIP Yep. Great! Guess we'll never find out that one thing Bandit took his hat off for! After all these years I've finally decided it was playing tennis.

Is was one of the hour long TZ's and I think it was the one where the screenwriter brought back William Shakespeare. It was bad, as was most of the hour episodes. Twilight Zone worked so well because it knew how to pack a punch in a half hour.
He wasn't the lead or Billy Shakespeare

the 1 hr eps tended to be bad didn't they? however do you remember the one about the janitor who kept the wax figures of the wax museum in serial killers down in his basement? that was an hour one - epic - with a great ending ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/s8tffwvq1/cheers.gif)

Never saw Smoky & the Bandit. me either. i've never seen Grease either. (or are these early 80s movies?) people tend to look at me like i have 2 heads when i state this. not a big fan of 70s movies - other than JAWS my favorite movies of All-Time - the 70s was pretty much a giant toilet in regards to cinema.

Never saw Smoky & the Bandit. More of a Stroker Ace or Sharkey's Machine fan? SHARKEY ROCKED What about STICK? Weird. Based on a Elmore Leonard book. Much like the Fletch books by Gregory Mcdonald, I don't know why more of Elmore Leonard books aren't filmed, and those that are, most are messed up. Which is weird as both those dude's books have great dialogue, characters, and I bet if you just shot the book verbatim you'd have a great movie. But no, they add stuff. Weird stuff.

Out of yours I'd take: Fast Times Full Metal Jacket Raging Bull (the very early 80s still feel 70s-ish) Ferris Buehler is good for what it is If I'd liked these kind of films, I'd throw onto my list Star Wars and Rocky. Just look at the best picture winners of the 80s. I'd pretty much take the worst 1970s winner (Patton? Kramer vs Kramer?) over every 80s winner (Chariots of Fire??? DRIVING MISS DAISY? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ?). Putting in The Thing and Lost Boys is just embarrassing. You can like any movie you like - - but that stuff is crap versus what I gave you.

I thought Animal House was pure garbage - didn't laugh once. Just off the top of my head - Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Airplane and The Naked Gun - all 80s movies - all light years better than Animal House IMO - but to each their own - we all have different tastes
