Thinking if this Eagles / Falcons game runs late tonight it could end near 12am (Philly/Atlanta - East Coast Time). Nadal US Open match a couple of nights ago ended at 2:00am EST (New York time where the Open is played). What's your solution to this problema and what's the latest you think a game/match should start? I say 7:00pm in your Time Zone - gives you time to head home from work, and watch with the family, and still get up at a respectable time the next day for work. Screw the other time zone on the other side of the coast. Go! ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/s8tffwvq1/cheers.gif)

Calculations by some guy using 2014 Census estimates, down to the county subdivision level where necessary.
Eastern Standard Time Zone: 150.2 million (47.1%) Central Standard Time Zone: 92.3 million (29.0%) Mountain Standard Time Zone: 21.3 million (6.7%) Pacific Standard Time Zone: 53.0 million (16.6%)
Note that the totals do not add up to 100%, because 0.7% of the U.S. population (not including dependencies other than the District of Columbia) lives outside of these time zones in Alaska and Hawaii.

I'm really only 'concerned' and 'concerned' may be a strong word about West Coast games start times during the playoffs or perhaps March Madness or an epic college football game. What is the typical start time for a game on the West Coast for the NHL, MLB, NBA - typically around 7:00 or 7:30pm? My problem tends to center on the Thursday/Sunday/Monday nights games. I either stay up and watch or just say the hell with it and have a few beers and call out of work the next day. Nothing like being miserable the next day at work with only a couple of hours of sleep - especially if your team loses.

The Eagles have a London game this year. That’s 9:30am eastern, 6:30am west coast. That’s the perfect time.

Shoutout the NBA fans who want the playoffs seeded from 1-16 time zones & geography be damned.
Prime time NFL, esp Opening Night, is always going to be 8-9pm to suit the widest audience.

World Series games normally start around 5 and NBA Finals games normally start around 6. I was on vacation in New York in June 98 and in Orlando in June 99 and the NBA Finals games ended around midnight or later.

I can live with Playoff games because of TV and ratings and wanting the whole nation to see the game. And granted an NFL season is only 16 games and Monday, Thursday, Sunday night games are supposed to be special... That being said - they're still regular season games. 11:30 East Coast time here and we're still in the 3rd Quarter.
