Happy 88th Birthday Mario Adorf!!!
Born on September 8, 1930 in Zurich, Switzerland
Thanks for everything, so far...
Swiss-born character actor of international movies.
Adorf was still studying drama at the famous Otto Falkenberg School in Munich when he landed his first role in the first installment of the
O8/15 series in 1954. It was a small part but it didn't go unnoticed and got him new roles in German films and from there on has been in demand internationally.
Adorf still regrets that he refused parts in Francis Ford Coppola's
The Godfather 1972 and Billy Wilder's
One, Two, Three 1961. He also turned down the role of General Mapache in Sam Peckinpah's
The Wild Bunch 1969, because he felt the character was too violent.
