Can we post questions regarding song lyrics? Or is this totally for movie questions only?
Just wondering.

Okay well actually it's been bugging me because the lyric in question I feel will be simple but the fact is, all lyrics sites that have the song, has errors. Believe me, I checked. The great song in question is " Speeding". The lyrics are online but, as the nature of the beast is, these available lyrics are NOT what is actually being sung at that one part. All the words to all the online lyrics are correct except for the last part of this one little sentence. Driving faster Driving past the scenery On pretty view... It doesn't make sense and it's also not the words coming out. It really sounds more like; Driving faster Driving past the scenery And rip to freedom/meaning... Neither one of those sentences make much sense, but phonically, it sounds more like the second example than the first. And there's a "when" on the second time, whereas on the first time it comes it's not the same. Here's a live version captured in time, where you can see her lip movement but I swear it's still a mystery to me because the live version has different words in one part from the recording.

I'd suggest not using a live version as a reference, because mistakes can be made or they might just change it on a whim. Try this version instead. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DPXkWZGaDg

Ok I see you put the same link your second post, not the first, which seems to answer your question already, so I'm not sure why you asked at all.

My question wasn't about where to find the songs online. My question is asking what are the lyrics she's singing in that one part that I outlined in my missive.

Well it seems to me to be how it sounds in the studio (not the live) version and the lyrics you were typed were correct.

According to google these are the actual lyrics:
Lyrics I can't explain the way I feel Each time I get behind the wheel The rush of blood comes As the power surges And my right foot urges The car to push on through the night
Driving faster Driving past the scenery On pretty view and Feel the speed and I don't dream of Driving slow some other time
One thing I'm certain that I know All I want to do is go go go Everything is rushing by My heart is pounding deep inside Got to match the engine's pace Win imaginary race - yeah!
Driving faster Driving past the scenery On pretty view and I feel as though I've Got to control my Reckless need to speed and speed And speed And speed And speed And speed...

It doesn't make sense and it's also not the words coming out. It really sounds more like; Driving faster Driving past the scenery And rip to freedom/meaning... I think I hear "rear view mirror" in that line, pronounced like many people say it: meeruh.

Yeah the lyrics that are all over the net (including that site) are all the same. But that one part is incorrect. It happens with a lot of songs. Once an incorrect lyric is posted on one lyrics site, it kinda spreads like wildfire.
But I am hearing something along the lines of "rear view mirror" as that would make sense!
So I'm putting the lyric here as to what it could be with the help of Admin's suggestion.
I can't explain the way I feel Each time I get behind the wheel The rush of blood comes As the power surges And my right foot urges The car to push on through the night
Driving faster Driving past the scenery In rear view mirror I feel the speed and I don't dream of Driving slow some other time
One thing I'm certain that I know All I want to do is go go go Everything is rushing by My heart is pounding deep inside Got to match the engine's pace Win the imaginary race - yeah!
Driving faster Driving past the scenery In rear view mirror when I feel as though I've Got to control my Reckless need to speed and speed And speed And speed And speed And speed...
Now, of course, in that rather short sentence of a line, I am hearing something that sounds like she is pronouncing a "t" at the end of the word rear, in a sense making it sound more like she/they are singing "real to meeruh" and the few words in that line go into the next line. First with "I feel the speed..." and "When I feel as though" but again that could be wrong and she's just adding notes to words already in the line.

BTW here's what I was able to pick out of the live version lyrics that differed to the single.
I can't explain the reason why I can't slow down although I try The fast and free Way late at night compels me To take a flight And who am I to say no?

I'm thinking maybe the preceding line should be questioned. Assuming it's "past the scenery" may be what's misleading us into trying to make the following line fit into the context.

Yeah that's what I had thought several times myself as I have returned to this song through the years. It's just always bugged me. But I know it's definitely not "on pretty view" because those words are not being pronounced clear enough to hear that and it doesn't make much sense. Grammatically.

It's probably something goofy like:
something something see ya something something me-ya

There is definitely a twang in the singing voice that makes it hard to figure out the pronunciation. I also assume you're a fan of Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
