Eastern religions teach people to focus on themselves and work on finding their place in the universe. They seem more fulfilling to the individual.
What insight can you learn about yourself from reading the Bible? 
If your blanket statement about Eastern religions is accurate, then Christianity seems to teach the same things they do as well.
