Surely a win for your boys and if it wasn't that Pelligrini is a good egg I'd wish you luck. In fact, second thoughts Pelli is earning about £7m a year more than any of us so... good luck.

Pickford's diabolical pass out of his box was seized on by Yarmolenko who danced his way past two defenders, found about a square foot of space, and unleashed a curling left-footer into the rippling Everton net. Pickford quite rightly holds an apologetic hand up. 0-2.

I can see Everton winning this, assuming no more cock-ups at the back. Pellegrini is asking a lot of his lone striker. He's giving a relatively inexperienced Toffee's defence far too much time to build up play, in contrast to Liverpool yesterday who never gave Spuds time to do anything. Most of Everton's good stuff is down the left. Walcott would be better in the middle, methinks
