Dickerson amongst others. Shame on these players I say. You're retired now and had a chance while working to invest your money wisely and still currently have the opportunity to make your way in life. Seems like everyone these days has a hand out and is expecting a free ride in life. Who's side are you on? Now I understand the argument that these players gave their heart, soul and body up - physical, emotional and mental demands. We've seen the horror stories about what an NFL career can do to some (i.e. the concussion/suicide saga); however if you're 'good' at your job - does this mean your prior company should set you up for the rest of your life? Maybe a nice package for a couple of years would suffice after retirement and then it's time to move on. I say this reeks of greediness. NFL or Hall of Famers? Go!

If you mean benefits after retirement for NFL players paid for by the league.
No. Not right now anyway. Translate this to any other field and it seems completely ridiculous. I’m in the construction field and I see plenty of guys close to retirement that can’t afford to retire because of the cost of healthcare. When those guys get lifetime benefits maybe then I’ll consider supporting it for millionaires.

Everyday people trying to get by on barely $24,000 a year with garbage health care and shrinking benefits each year. Athletes who had multi million dollar contracts: GRRR!!! GIVE ME MONEYZ!!!

If it's basically anything in terms of players vs NFL/Owners I'm going to take the players side 99% of the time. I'm also in favor of people getting health care affordably and be taken care of.
I will say not all hall of fame players made the same level of money over the years so I'm not going to jump the gun and say all these guys are millionaires looking for hand outs.
