Only if they play songs from Songs About Jane and It Won't Be Soon Before Long. Sugar is the only exception.

NFL is receiving a lot of flack right now.
Thing about the Super Bowl is - it's pretty much the biggest Sports Party of the year - I just don't know if AC/DC, ZZ-Top really relate to the casual mainstream fan anymore.
I actually enjoy their music and Adam Levine - call it pop/mainstream whatever.
I'll take this over Lady Gaga/Pink/Justin Timberlake etc.
I still say they need to experiment with having a major event at halftime like Floyd Mayweather vs. Alvarez - give the world a free show during halftime like this. Think about it - 12 Rounds is 36 minutes if it goes that far - Super Bowl halftimes are ridiculously long anyway.

Nay. I've actually enjoyed the last couple of halftime shows but Maroon 5 are not exactly my cup of tea.
Hey, I thought they might take the opportunity to tap into Atlanta being probably the biggest black music scene in America.. but whatever, let's go with Moves Like Jagger.

Yeah - but this goes back to my point about the Super Bowl being the biggest sports party of the year and AC/DC and the ZZ Tops of the world not really appealing to the crowd of 2018.
It's not so much about 'Atlanta' even though it would be a nice story if they make it this year like Minnesota hosting it last year.
What makes Atlanta the biggest black music scene in America?

Atlanta has been pretty much the center of hip-hop for about 20 years. Migos, Outkast, Usher, Future, T.I., Run the Jewels, Ludacris... and like hundreds more.

Never heard of them - I go Philly with Meek Mill, The Roots, Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff ..... Boyz II Men

I’m fine with it, I never expect the Super Bowl to feature music that I like a lot, they just go with whoever the most popular, commercial acts are, Ive enjoyed most of the Halftime shows even when I’m not a big fan of whoever’s performing, Maroon 5 will be fine IMO.

Let me get this straight. I can perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show if I maroon five people on an island. Ok, I choose my mother in law, Donald Trump, LeBron James, DC Fan, and that nut who just killed that woman on the golf course in Iowa.
Now I need to get a band together.

Did the NFL also announce that saltines and plain yogurt were the official snacks of this year's Super Bowl?

I play uke and bass uke (badly I might add)... I'll join your band, if I can bring my dogs, and the gig doesn't clash with a slimbridge AFC home game😎

I'm very surprised that there are six 35+ year old soccer moms on this board - - who knew?!

They don't really do that in general though. I thought they would have tried to get a New York centric act when it was in Giants stadium, but instead we got a Hawaiian featuring a band from California. I hadn't given it much thought before that, but it was very clear after I saw who was chosen that they don't care about catering to the locale.
