What makes you think that and what evidence do you have in support other than the circular argument of 'I believe in God because the Bible/God says he is real'? i have never used that argument. However the reason I think he is personal is personal. I rarely if ever share my personal belieffs. Besides, without the use of scriptual evidence that defines God as personal, my answer would be entirely anecdotal anyway and everyone knows that only theophobiacs can state anecdotes as evidence.

You don't think you have butt in essence and in reality you do so all the time as evidenced by... ..a reluctance and inability to use any other argument (because there isn't one) that you spin that it is either too personal or mystical or 'special' that no-one else can understand it. Look that is absolutely fine for you to have your personal beliefs in your own little world in your own way in the context of your own life and family HOWEVER don't posit them as true or meaningful to anyone else on a public message board. Tell us about it, no problem butt to argue or debate that they have a more general relevance is ridiculous. It is in fact 'anecdotal' because there is no scriptural evidence because the scriptures don't measure up to the requirements of being or either factual or reliable owing to their nature. Written by ordinary men, translated and interpreted many times over time is hardly evidential without even going into the sphere of bias in these translations and interpretations. BTW I would prefer it if you called me a 'skeptic' rather than a theophobe which is a really silly manufactured word. I am not phobic about religion or the religious.
