As a kid, I was always in awe of the surrounding mountains. They live in the Rhondda Valleys. But then, on recent trips, I see these fucking things on the surrounding mountains. Way to go, eco freaks, you took something sacred from my life, and buttfucked it while giving me the fucking bird.

You're right. The coal mines were prettier. A lot of the Welsh came over here to mine coal in the Pennsylvania-Kentucky-West Virginia area. If he misses the mines that much, there are still job opportunities in the USA, in spite of the Democratic Party's best efforts to shut the coal industry down. Coal isn't as big as it once was, but hey, it's still pretty big.

As a kid, I was always in awe of the surrounding mountains. I think wind turbines look neat and technologically advanced.

There is no contest to which is preferable in an environment. There are national parks of natural beauty where these things are not allowed and one would be a NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) to protest such an environmental improvement.

I agree with you if you are going to compare windmills to coal mining and nuclear power stations. What I am saying is I just wish we could let nature be nature without any additions.

You're right. The coal mines were prettier. I think there were a few still going in the 80s when I was a kid. There was a boys camp near where I live, and a girls one further up the coast that allowed kids from the area a break from polluted Valleys air.

All coalmines worldwide should be shut down because they are a non-renewable resource, polluting and adding to global warming and CO2 emissions. The resources and workforce should be directed into renewable energy such as wind and wave farms, hydro and research into new technologies.
