For those who don't want to scour the internet. Have to agree with Ackbar. He looks good. He looks real good. Yeah. He doesn't look bad. Even though it might not be perfect it is a HUGE improvement over the character below who looked nothing like the Joker in my opinion and was a mistake. I think the only thing that has saved Leto's version has been Margot Robbie and her popularity as Harley Quinn but if there was no Harley Quinn in the DCEU he would have been long gone. I am looking forward to seeing what they do in this movie and hope they keep some of the most known parts about the character's origin like him being the first Red Hood and him falling into a chemical vat when Batman is pursuing him leading to him becoming the Joker 'cause Bill Finger came up with that back in the 50s. Although I wouldn't mind seeing them used the revised version by Alan Moore and others with Joker being a lab assistant who quit his job to become a comedian to provide for his pregnant Wife and when that doesn’t work out he turns to a life of crime as the Red Hood and around the time he falls in the chemical vat his Wife and unborn child are murdered by corrupt police officers which causes him to become the Joker.

Any idea if Batman is in this film or not? BTW, the film has a very Scorsese look to it. Which is appropriate as The King of Comedy is pretty much a Joker and Harley film without actually having those characters.

I personally dont have a problem with Leto's Joker look. Yeah some might think it's a bit over-the-top but to me he's just a new-agey Joker and the greaseball hair is actually in new comics too. I enjoyed him, especially his characterisation. The scene where he got that guy to kiss his ring was hilarious especially when he replied, "I can tell you meant that." Or something to that effect. Although Im not sure why they cut the abuse towards Harley and the meeting between them in the prison sitting at the desk. Although I suspect now, due to the current American politically correct climate, feminists might have complained about the abuse towards women. As there is a scene where he slaps Harley. Tbh I had more of a problem with Harley's look. She reminded me of Michael Jackson, especially with the jacket on. Although her personality was on point. I wish they wouldve gone with the Harley look from the Arkham games, that is half classic/half modern.

Funny you asked that 'cause we now know Bruce Wayne is going to be in the movie but it is going to be based when he is young before he becomes Batman and with the Joker already existing years before Bruce became Batman they have already gone in a different direction than Gotham and I wonder if they will have another hero existing in Gotham before Batman like the Spectre who in some continuities is said to have been in Gotham before Batman was around.

I wish they wouldve gone with the Harley look from the Arkham games, that is half classic/half modern. Well, I wasn't a fan of the look as I mentioned but to me it was more than that and it was the way he dressed and his personality which just didn't seem like the Joker to me and I think the main reason they went for such a different interpretation was 'cause the Joker has been done so many times and they wanted to do something new and unique to make this version stand out more and I think they were going for that with Lex Luthor too but it left a lot of people confused. We were also left with a lot of questions and I don't remember it being said how long the Joker had existed in Gotham for or what his history with Batman was like but we knew he had to exist for a while and had met Batman 'cause Harley and him were responsible for the death of one of the Robins but that is the whole problem with the entire DCEU and there are too many questions in the Bat Universe especially with the Bat Family and Batman's villains and they could have answered a lot of them with a new solo Batman movie but are holding that off. I can see your complaints about Harley but funny enough most of the complaints I have seen about her voice and many wanted Margot to speak with the Harley accent and were disappointed with how different she sounded.

Well youre on the right track. Although he still seemed like the Joker to me, albeit quite different to other people, is that Ledger's Joker made such an impact so that is the reason for the 'uniqueness'. Again to me haha, Lex Jr wasnt so bad. I actually disliked him in the trailers before the film screened. I just felt it was the easy way out for Warner. If Lex was received well then great, if not then they can use the excuse "but guys, he's Lex Jr not Lex Sr. He's bound to be a little bit different." Well, I cant agree with you more, the DCEU is very questionable. We can all blame the brass though ie Emmerich and others, who sped up the DCEU especially with BvS as they were concerned with their bonuses being axed due to the impending merger between Warner and AT&T
