Is it true that most of the world is GAY?
According to most TV shows I've watched recently I'm being made to feel that being "normal" is not acceptable any more. I accept that all peoples need representation but in every f*cking show? There is what looks like an intriguing new drama, called STRANGERS, set in Hong Kong and starring John Simms and Anthony Wong ( a wonderful gangster in some Johnnie To movies). Anthony Wong's character has a daughter. Late teens, very pretty but suddenly when she is pursuing a bit of intrigue, she and another female get into some passionate kissing in a public bar. I almost choked on my chicken, so unnecessary and out of left field was it Adding nothing to the story, it was what appears to be the obligatory appearance of some "gayness" in the show. Enough. Some promising shows are being spoiled by this "in your face" sop to queers

Doesn't bother me.
Did you know that actress, Katie Leung, is Scottish? She was in the Harry Potter films.

I was watching the 2nd season of Abandoned Engineering recently and one of the guys/gals talking heads was a trans, he looked like a guy in a dress to me. We live in strange times, but theyre harmless

I agree that it does feel forced sometimes, but I guess that's just the pendulum swinging back too far the other way.
The presence of gay characters doesn't bother me in principle, but in some specific cases it does. The new Star Trek series, for example, has a gay character. I can't really explain why but I don't like it - not on Star Trek. Six Feet Under is one of my favourite drama shows ever, and one of the main characters is gay and his love life features very prominently in the show, and that never bothered me in the least, so it's not like I am this horrible homophobic person who can't stand the sight of a gay man.

If it is written good, it doesn't bother you - Gus in Breaking Bad / Francis in House of Cards / Loras in Game of Thrones But if it is only to shovel down a certain agenda through your throat...no thx.

does it make me 'wrong' or a bad person if I think it's hot if it's 2 chicks but it's 'awkward/nauseating' viewing if 2 guys? anywho - I live my life by 'live and let live' and 'treat others the way you wanted to be treated'. as long as you're not bothering me - we're aces

I find it ridiculous that movie and TV producers feel the need for total P.C. There are at least one (or more) queers in every show or movie...way more than the normal ratio of everyday life would be. It's so offputting that I've basically stopped watching anything but sports.

Rule Two: It is wrong to be French. Rule Three: It is okay to put all bad people in a giant meat grinder. Rule Four: Lawyers, see rule three. Rule Five: It is ok to drive a gas guzzler if it helps you get babes. Rule Six: Everyone should car pool except me. Rule Seven: Bring back the word "stewardesses". Rule Eight: Synchronized swimming is not a sport. Rule Nine: Mud wrestling is a sport. Rule two is holy to me.

It's true that, in America, there are over 400 separate choices of episodic programming. Since the 1990's, TV shows have been given ratings similar to motion pictures based on content. As much as ratings are designed for parents to decide what they let their children see, it's clearly also an indicator of how extreme the content is.
But if two people of the same gender merely kissing is an issue, there's 399 other choices.
