I was disappointed by both. The Aquaman trailer was slightly better, I suppose.
What say you?

I'd definitely say Aquaman because it has a strong visual element to it. Captain Marvel just looks ordinary.

What was disappointing about the Aqiaman trailer? I thought it was good, and I felt that was the overall consensus. I just personally didn't like the FX shots. I understand they probably weren't finished, but still...

I just watched this Aquaman trailer, @forceghostackbar … I mean, I thought it looked OK. A typical big-budget modern effects-driven extravaganza, but OK. I liked the lighthouse scene, and the underwater city reminded me of The Phantom Menace, but that’s probably in my mind because, as you know, I just saw it. About halfway through, the special-effects started reminding me of Justice League—unfortunately, as Justice League’s stories and special effects were terrible. Do DC see Aquaman as their Thor? Because it really looks that way. And you know my thoughts on the Shazam trailer… EDIT: Oops! I mixed up Shazam and Captain Marvel again. I’m definitely going to keep doing that… I thought Captain Marvel looked OK. I appreciate Marvel’s desire to make movies with different tones to them: Iron Man a gently parodying superhero flick, Captain America a flag-waving Rocketeer-esque pulp tale, The Winter Soldier a ‘70s spy thriller, even Thor: Ragnarok a goofy comedy, as much as I found the comic tone to be off. Captain Marvel looks a bit darker, which I don’t usually like but which may be a good change for the company.

Carol Danver is one of more lighthearted characters in Marvel, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they go with that tone. And remember, the first trailer for ‘Ant-Man’ made the film look darker than it actually is.

For now, ‘Aquaman’ trailer.
I need more trailer to come out for ‘Captain Marvel’.

I think that is clear: Aquaman. I thought both were ok.
Aqua is more of a trailer. Marvel is more of a teaser, it's edited very tightly and you have to rewatch it to remember what it is going on at all.
I liked the tone in Marvel better than the 80s adventure-style of Aqua. Brie Larson as AcedemyAward winning actor was remarkably one-note whereas Jason Moma as the living manifestation of the male tough-guy bimbo had some charisma and wit.
The scope of Aqua trailer is so much grander and more ambitious than most CBMs. A underwater based film like this including the fantsay cheese of mutated seahorses has never been done (sans a few scenes in Phantom Menace etc).
Aqua 7.5/10 Marvel: 6/10

Really? Aquaman looks terrible. I would bet money that Captain Marvel is a far better movie. I'm pretty sure Captain Marvel will be the better movie (though I'd be gladly surprised if Aquaman turns out better) but if just comparing trailers, Aquaman at this point comes out on top.

Both decently good for different reasons.
Aquaman trailer makes for better watching. You can sit down and enjoy the experience without thinking too much about it and get a sense of story, action, and spectacle. Wasn’t disappointed- actually looking more forward to it than before since it’s taking so much from MCU Thor and comics Namor.
Captain Marvel trailer is more for those familiar with her from the comics, because it’s made up mostly of split second shots that give hints to characters, locations, and twisty wisty timey wimey events to come that they just can’t give away yet. So many would probably be disappointed, but I wasn’t.

based on the trailers... my best guess is ill like Captain Marvel more than Aquaman.
normally I prefer DC over Marvel movies as about the only Marvel movies worth re-watching for me is the Thor series but hopefully Captain Marvel joins the list and will be basically the 2nd super hero movie that's good with a female lead as currently it's just Wonder Woman.
I think that's one thing that helps with Captain Marvel is you just don't see good super hero movies with female leads, so when they do come around it helps give them a little bit of a edge on that aspect.

Captain Marvel is far from an amazing trailer, but seeing as Aquaman shows much more soectacle, and I'm no more impressed by that trailer, I'd say Marvel edges. Not quite a case of less is more, more a case of less was as impressive as more.

you know captain marvel is in trouble when the Disney pr machine cannot save the lacklustre reactions to the trailer.

Neither of them were exceptional. They weren't flat out horrible either. I was disappointed that Aquaman gave away its bio-luminescent vision of Atlantis in the very first trailer. I would have preferred to experience that for the first time in a theater and not on my iPhone (even though it is highly derivative of Avatar). The Black Manta money shots could have been held back in my opinion as well.
I see what they were trying to do with the Captain Marvel trailer and in theory, it should have worked. Portraying Carol as a sort of unreliable narrator of her own experience runs counter to Wonder Woman's put together, alpha-female presence. It's too bad they had to mix in fan-service superhero stuff -- 'cause marketing -- if they'd have gone harder on the false memories angle, the trailer would have been far more intriguing.
Marvel is very hit or miss with their trailers. WB/DC practically makes better trailers than they do movies.

Additionally, this is even more evident given the fact that for whatever reason DC/Warner Bros. simply can't seem to do special effects. They are very fake looking movies this looks to continue that trend. Christ, when Jason Momoa and Amber Heard are just sitting there on a raft talking, even the background looks fake. I don't know why they can't fix this problem.

Marvel wins again. I can't even put the two franchises in the same category until DC starts making better looking movies.I mean that in the most basic literal sense. I'm not talking about acting, storyline, or plot. I am literally talking about how the movies look visually. DC is bad at effects. I don't know why. There's no excuse for it – they have plenty of money – but their movies look so god damn fake and cartoony that they aren't in the same league as Marvel. That alone could vastly improve the quality of their movies.
I watched Man of Steel for the first time from start to finish a few weeks ago. I had seen about 75% of the movie in dribs and drabs over the last several years, but never sat down and watched it from beginning to end. It came on TV, I was off from work, so I decided to give it a chance. It's not a bad movie. It's well acted and pretty much captures Superman's essence, but made him a little more modern and less of a Boy Scout; will still maintaining the very essence of the character. He's a good guy, that's never in question. But the CGI just kills any tension or emotion.
Capt. Marvel is a better trailer. It's not an all-time great, or even great, but it's simply just better made. There's a little more gusto to it. The music is great. Where is Aquaman simply looks like a big CGI fest and bad CGI at that. It looks like it could be fun if it didn't look so damn fake.
