I am going to do an extra poll today because I noticed that 1986 was a crazy and diverse year for horror movies.
Slasher movies, serial killer movies, a vampire movie, zombie movies, demon movies, troll movies, tiny monster movies, alien movies, ghost movies, a superhero movie, a killer automobile movie, a mutation movie, a movie about another dimension, a killer robot movie and a witch movie.

You only listed 4 good movies. I am sure there are many horror fans that disagree. You don't have to pick 5.

Apart from 4 or 5 titles, not much going on here for me. I think 1987 is the best of the decade - I could do a decent top 10 quite easily.

Aliens, which is a near perfect action/SF/horror film
April Fool's Day
The Fly, thanks in large part to Jeff Golblum, I still find this film disappointing

It's a pity there weren't a few more people using this board. The polls we used to do on the imdb horror board were well attended. Still, better than nought.

Good to see votes for other films that are not 'Aliens' and 'The Fly'. Though they are deserving of the most votes.

It's a good movie for sure, but that is all it is for me. I like body horror, I love Cronenerg's directing style and I love Jeff Goldblum. Naturally I am a big fan of The Fly. It is also one of the few horror movies that actually scares me.

Aliens and Henry are far above the other choices. Not to say there aren't some good movies in the rest of the choices but Henry's cam corder scene alone is more disturbing than anything in all the rest of the movies combined and Aliens is perfection even if it's more of a sci-fi action movie than horror.

1986 really was a good year. My 5 picks (in no particular order):
-Aliens -The Fly (don't feel like I need to explain either of these two)
-Henry (I saw it probably way too young...it is a pretty disturbing flick, but very well acted. It's much more layered and interesting watching at as adult.)
-Poltergeist II (I had terribly crooked teeth hitting high school age and got braces. Mid 90s budget-orthodontics were a little more crude than today. It was a lot of pain and embarrassment...and a lot of money from my folks. The braces scene in this movie haunted me for years.)
-Critters (Loved the 80's creature features and this one was always a favorite. Effectively scary, but didn't take itself too seriously)
Enjoyed a lot of others on the list. 1986 was good to horror fans!
