Then there's those who have not been to a theater to see a movie since the 90s , watch movies only on a small TV screen, repeatedly whine about their poor eyesight and still habitually and bitterly complain about all of the CGI and how they HATE HATE HATE it.

If it works, it works. I thought no amount of CGI could Peter Dinklage work as a giant dwarf in Infinity War. Most of the time I don't give a f---.

CGI is lazy filmmaking. There is no excuse to blend together practical effect and motion capture whilst using minimal CGI. The new Jurassic Park films abolsutley suck from this perspective. How can the original JP look more real than current version? Because good use of practical effects and animatronics always is more real than computer images.
Don't get me started on CG blood.

I don’t think most complain about proper levels of cgi. But some films go way overboard unnecessarily and it can become distracting.

Make it look good and I won't have to complain.
A lot of it looks like a fucking Video Game cutscene and we're supposed to take it seriously?
