It always comes down to this: first of all - preferably before shooting starts - you need to have a good script with well written dialogue. You can't just explore all kinds of storylines and experiment without a finished script and hope it will all come together in the editing room. That might work for an auteur filmmaker with a strong, singular vision on an experimental indie film - but not on a 200 million Hollywood blockbuster where almost all post production decisions get made by non-creatives (worst of all: based on the reactions of test audiences).
Like Ridley Scott, Zack Snyder is a great visual storyteller but he's NOT an auteur. Without a great script, his films will always be uneven (while visually exciting). I haven't seen 'Suicide Squad' (which I believe was simply f***ed up by the studio), but there was a lot to enjoy in the 'Ultimate Edition' of 'BvS'.
Overall, BvS may not be a perfect film, but - to me - it was a very interesting one. And so unlike anything else we see in terms of mega-budget superhero films. It had gravitas, it took risks, it tried to take a "real world" approach at how humanity would react if there were suddenly gods living among us (which, to a lesser extent but with a much more even script, 'CA: Civil War' also did). And there was this element of Greek tragedy hardly any superhero film tried to examine so far. With a tighter script and better dialogue - and no studio tinkering - it could have been among the best of its genre.

Let Flash script take its time. Give Matt Reeves the time he needs to write the final screenplay he will Direct from Ben, Geoff and Terrios finished work. (Which Ben thankfully has requested from WB) Get the scripts for Sirens and SS2 take the time they need.

Well........yeah.
Zack and Scott have the issue where they take the script as is, they read it, they see the film in their head and they shoot, they don't do their own touch ups.

I can't say Suicide Squad is a good movie with a straight face but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it. Ironically it has the same problem as the MCU, a boring villain in the form of Enchantress. You have the Joker and Amanda Waller in your movie but go with Cara Delevingne? Okay...

Maybe he was under studio pressure because of this "superhero arms race" that seems to have been going on for a couple of years now with every new film seemingly having to cram more and more heroes - and villains - into a 2-hour format. Marvel can do this because they gave each hero a standalone film first, so the audience already got to know them well enough that they were invested in them by the time the Avengers or Civil War came along. I imagine a film like Suicide Squad has a hard time getting you to care about what happens to those antiheroes: because you hardly get to know them.
