summers8 really wants to be the next Stanton or formersam. Can't wait for him to me how X-Men is a better cinematic masterpiece over the Lord of the Rings trilogy!

I didn't see the post but I'm not surprised he did it. summers8 has gone troll-ballistic since Fox sold out to Disney.

Sophie Turner is supposed to be bland, shes going through personal grief and struggling to cope. Brie Larson is meant to be the hotshot Captain Marvel with a swagger yet shes acting like she got dumped on prom night. Wait, are you telling me a young woman going through personal grief is supposed to be more expressionless than a hardened military personnel? Seriously? She's not expressionless though is she. Carol danvers is a zombie. Jean is showing a range of negative emotions

Dont take my word for it watch the 2 trailers again. Sophie crying in the rain for 1 second is more emotion than zombie Danvers in her whole trailer.

Sophie crying in the rain for 1 second is more emotion than zombie Danvers in her whole trailer. Maybe it's intentional. Acting wise between the two, I'd go with Brie Larson who has won an Oscar for her previous work. She was interviewed and said that she brought the same level of dramatic acting to Captain Marvel as any other film she's done.

Whens the last time a new high calibre actor actually pulled off a top grade performance?. People like Keaton, Cate Blancet, Kurt russel, etc get straight forward by the numbers roles. MCU scripts dont allow them to properly express their acting ability like a Heath ledger or a Fassbender. No wonder Jessica Chastain rejected a role in ANTMAN because she wad unhappy with the script. And Larson will just be another archetype MCU heroine

I'll watch it, but something tells me it won't be much better than Apocalypse was.

After I watch a movie a couple times in theater, sometimes I go again and watch the audience. (I know I reaaalllly use my time wisely) Of the last few comic book movies I've done this in the biggest reactions I've seen are from Logan and Avengers IW. When Logan dies a lot of people were either glassy eyed or actually tearing up. About the same reaction to Spiderman begging not to go. I chose those two to audience watch because when I saw them with my family both males and female members openly cried at both.
edit: so IMHO there is meat to chew on for actors in each movie from different production companies.

An IGN poll has 75% of people thinking "Eh, it's fine". That about sums it up for me too I suppose.

prove you are. mcu fans getting scared of this movie they make videos to indirectly show their fear.
be scared of new mutants. yes. scared of this? Maybe CM should not be a comedy.
You and Form could be best friends, you know that?!?

What history? I don't recall anything in Sophie's history of acting that proves she's less bland than Brie Larson. history that shows the greatest comic films ever once mocked the concept of costumes, you seem to be concerned about.
oh well, history. xmen movies have done better as character study movies far better than mcu movies. jean is the character of focus.
if dark phoenix miraculously turns out good, that will kill off Captian marvel that brie herself has called a disney princess and disney has said its a comedy.
you have no idea how bad mcu is now. you guys are scared of a kinberg movie? again..yikes.
Man, the denial is strong with you.

Wait, are you telling me a young woman going through personal grief is supposed to be more expressionless than a hardened military personnel? Seriously? both actresses are not the best, but history is more on sophie's side to be better and the trailers so far is making that sound true. You do realize Brie Larson is an Oscar-winning actress, and you're telling me history is on Turner's side?? Man, biased and in denial.

Can you post a link, please? No I can't, it was just something that appeared on my YouTube feed (even though I'm not subscribed). Sometimes you see other comments and polls there by other YouTubers. I can't even find it now.

More 'meh' reactions and a lot that I agree with. "Show me the Jean/Scott relationship so I buy into it, don't just tell me it developed over this next decade jump." "Oh hey look, Jean Grey is the Phoenix now instead of building up our relationship with her to care about her." I do get annoyed anytime somebody says Sophie Turner is a good actress though as I just think they're lying because I can't possibly believe anyone can believe that.

I found that poll now, it was on my phone's YouTube feed.
So the question was "What did you all think of the Dark Phoenix trailer?"
Out of 162,000 votes the results were...
Loved it - 18% Hated it - 8% Eh, it was fine - 74%
So yeah not such a good response.

The shitty thing is I really want to love both of them. There isn't too much there in either to like, let alone love.
