Just a funny conclusion on the elusive Marjorie Rambeau, She won two NBA (National film board) awards in 1955 for A Man Called Peter (1955) and The View from Pompey's Head (1955) , and she has a star on Hollywoods hall of fame walk.

Wow! Welcome jloren! We can finally remove your name from the missing list. You must have gone underground when IMDb enacted their scorched earth policy. Nice to have you back.
kijii wins!!!! Congratulations.
Thank you, Matt. So many great quotes and so many films I realize that I still have to see.
Will the gents be speaking soon?

Are you seriously asking me to state the theme of the next contest, Jervis? The QM never reveals!

During my interfering dinnerparty I had to sneek in a few peeks on my mobile to see how it went and both the QM and and all the players seemed to have a blast. Great work matt and congratz on the win kijii!

Hoping you'll be around longer on the next round, Shield. Try to keep your busy social calendar open on next Tuesday.

I've seen both of these but I still couldn't recognise Ms Rambeau......
Hoping to be up early Wednesday morning for the next GG.

Aussie -- I'm considering moving Lady Garth and the seven little Garths to New Zealand permanently so that the Games can be posted closer to your time zone.

This game is great fun, but I have to leave now. It's suppertime here. It will be a little less fun now that you're leaving us, Volver -- you did great! Thanks for playing. Thank you, mattgarth, and thanks for these great games, too. This time, it wasn't as difficult as it used to be (for me) thanks to google.

You are welcome, Volver -- and thank you for joining in. That's what really makes Garth Games successful.
Wait a minute -- did you say that you use Google? That is strictly against the rules! The directions state just as plain as can be -- No Research Permitted!
OK, just kidding. Hope to see you at Tuesday's contest.

They may find that they now possess brand new zeal and vigor toward the games.

Just thinking about New Zealand...picking Auckland as a spot. I asked this question of Google: Question: If it is 6 PM (Sunday) in Boston what time is it in Auckland, New Zealand? Answer : 11:00 AM (Monday) in Auckland, New Zealand. People in California might have more time, but what about Shield in Sweden? I may work out depending when you post a game. Boy, that international dateline confuses me no end .

Yes Kijii -- it sure is difficult trying to cater to players' availability across 24 different time zones. I guess the only real solution is for the QM to pull an all-dayer and an all-nighter.

My wife keeps asking me why it is called the Garth Game. I finally ordered Red River and streamed it for her last night. She liked the movie: Thomas Dunson: Take 'em to Missouri, Matt!

'Garth Game' -- I like the sound of the words. They mean players can post free, go or come, be drunk or sober, whatever they choose. Some words give you a feeling. 'Garth Game' are two of those words that make me tight in the throat. The same tightness a player gets when they make their first link, or when they get to the DDC. Some words can give you a feeling that makes your heart warm. 'Garth Game' are two of those words.

That's (almost} from the first movie I ever saw in a theatre. Couldn't believe he died in the end. But even Hollywood couldn't change history THAT much.

But even Hollywood couldn't change history THAT much. Actually the Duke died several times on screen, Aussie -- all the way back to CENTRAL AIRPORT in the early 1930s. Even when he was a big star, there were underwater demises in REAP THE WILD WIND and WAKE OF THE RED WITCH (and try saying those two titles side by side very fast). Wartime deaths in THE FIGHTING SEABEES and SANDS OF IWO JIMA. Westerns THE ALAMO and THE COWBOYS and his grand finale -- THE SHOOTIST. And there's still the open question of whether he and Lana Turner survived in THE SEA CHASE. For me, getting it from Bruce Dern in COWBOYS was the big surprise -- the movie was only 2/3rds finished!

SANDS OF IWO JIMA was the one which surprised me most. By the time I saw THE COWBOYS it was well known that the dastardly Dern back-shot him.
