If you want to watch MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN because you're a Jason Reitman fan, I have to warn you that it doesn't feel like he made it. None of his trademarks are present. This movie was wrongly advertised as an anti-technology rant. I'm so glad it wasn't, because it would've felt redundant (it was released less than a year after HER). Actually, if you take the technological aspects out of half of the subplots, it doesn't change anything. It's a very straight-forward movie about different people with different problems (some more common than others) that works because of the well-developed characters and the good performances. Unfortunately, the narration is mostly unnecessary (at times, it actually feels intrusive) and the shitfs from subplot to subplot are awkward. 6/10 ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog.

My #1 movie of 2014 as I just re-watched it not long ago on Sep 4th 2018 which was my 3rd viewing of it and it held steady.
7.5-8/10 ; within my Top 104 movies.
I think Jason Reitman is one of the most consistent directors...
