This film marks Clint's return to acting since "Trouble With The Curve" in 2012.
The film is based on the true story of Leo Sharp, a World War II veteran in his 80s who became a drug dealer and courier for the Sinaloa Cartel.

And he directs it too, at 88 years of age! Cool. I have enjoyed the vast majority of his movies from the past twenty years, so I will certainly be watching this new one in theatres.

Thanks dude. Been loving the hype on this one (and all the "88 year-old makes a movie" shock-horror tabloid headlines; hell, the late great Manoel De Oliveira was still directing features past the age of 100 and he didn't go mountain climbing and horse commanding on a regular basis like Eastwood, but still ...).

Clint's buddy Eli Wallach was 94 when he acted in "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps". Just goes to show you that some talent can just keep on going no matter the age.

It looks like it could be a solid movie as I just found out about this movie due to this post. Clint Eastwood is featured in my most recently released movie to get a 10/10 which is Gran Torino (2008) (which is only one of eight movies that has 10/10 status for me). I am not saying this The Mule (2018) movie will get a 10/10 by any means but I do think, given my impression from the trailer, that it getting a 7/10+ from me is possible. hopefully it's a surprise movie for me as just looking at movies released from 2013 to date there have only been four movies that managed to reach 7.5-8/10 status (i.e. Men, Woman & Children/Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation/Spectre/Shot Caller) and if you remove franchise movies that cuts it in half to only two movies (i.e. Men, Woman & Children/Shot Caller). hopefully The Mule can hit reach 7.5-8/10 status, which would make it only the third movie to reach that status from 2013 to date that's a non-franchise movie, but I am not expecting it even though I think it's got a shot at cracking 7/10+ for me given the trailer.
basically this looks like it will be Eastwood's best movie, that he directed or acted in, since Gran Torino (2008) in my mind.
