For neither Andrew nor Catman. But you do what you have to do.

Forget it. Had to try that, the cat wasn't having any of that.

For neither Andrew nor Catman. But you do what you have to do. Oh, no, is Andrew not feeling well? I've fed many a sick kitty with a syringe, and it sure isn't fun. Sometimes I will try 'schmearing' the food on a paw to see if the cat will lick it off and clean itself up. Less traumatizing than the syringe. I've had great luck with Gerber's Chicken Baby Food in the small jar, it tastes good and has enough fluid in it to keep the kitty hydrated. My thoughts are with you and Andrew, Catman.

Never gave my cats any syringes.
My biggest trouble was cutting their nails, my male cat was like "if you must", here's my toes, while my female cat was as if we fought a match of life and death, destroying many T-shirts of mine, once the cutting was over she runned away, then came back looked at me in utter dispice like she was saying OK this was not bad, but don't you do that again!

I imagine not, though I'll bet it's not as bad as what my friend did once to his cat when she was experiencing a particularly intense heat moment and would not stop howling all night long. Anybody got some Saran warp? I think I'd have to hire out.

I once had to administer medicine to one of my cats this way and it was a struggle so I can only imagine what it would be like to feed them like this.

This morning Andrew ate both dry food and canned food, and afterwards he had a good bath (something he's been neglecting the past couple days).
Either the syringe feeding jump-started his system, or the thought of getting fed with a syringe motivated him to eat without 'assistance' -- either way, it's a win for him.
