And it's pretty much the same as the MCU formula. Wonder Woman already was noted on how similar its tone was to CATFA and Thor, and now we have Shazam and Aquaman looking pretty much like they'd fit right in with the MCU more than the previous DCEU films.

You keep forgetting to acknowledge that the MCU formula is " Copy Superman: The Movie". Even MCU Dictator Kevin Feige has admitted that MCU copies Superman: The Movie.

Not that I agree, but are you saying you hate the Superman movie? Because I distinctly remember you saying you hated the MCU formula.

You keep forgetting to acknowledge that the MCU formula is " Copy Superman: The Movie". Even MCU Dictator Kevin Feige has admitted that MCU copies Superman: The Movie. Not that I agree, but are you saying you hate the Superman movie? No, Superman: The Movie is a great superhero movie. The MCU formula, which MCU Dictator Kevin Feige has admitted, is "Copy Superman: The Movie". But just because the MCU formula is ""Copy Superman: The Movie", that doesn't mean MCU movies are good. Most people would agree that A Perfect Murder copied Dial M for Murder and would also agree that A Perfect Murder isn't as great a movie as Dial M for Murder is. Another example: Total Recall (2012) copied Total Recall (1990), but Total Recall (2012) isn't as good as Total Recall (1990). So as you can see, it's very possible for a movie to copy another movie but not be as great or as good as the movie that it copied. And that's exactly the case with MCU movies. The MCU formula is "Copy Superman: The Movie", but MCU movies are nowhere as great as Superman: The Movie is.

It’s weird how no one else has been able to “copy” that Superman formula. Even the original Superman movies immediately went off the rails after the initial success. DC-Fraud may not like MCU movies, but obviously that opinion is a very tiny minority view. It is undeniable that the MCU has been a spectacular success. If only Kevin Feige had be around to work on the original Superman movies. In all likelihood, we’d have many more well-crafted Christopher Reeve Superman movies. No abysmal Superman 3 & 4 to sink the series and repel filmmakers and audiences from the superhero genre for decades.

The MCU DID NOT invent any of that stuff. Have you guys never seen a movie before the year 2008? It's called action/adventure with a Hero's Journey character arc. It pre-dates cinema itself.

I'm not saying they did. I'm simply saying the DCEU might finally be making decent movies by using pretty much the same formula as the MCU.

The Marvel formula isn't a 100% sure bet. Marvel has their duds. Wonder Woman was a cultural phenomenon, like black panther was. You can't contribute their sucesses to any formula. Aquaman is unlike anything Marvel has ever attempted, so I don't see the connection there either. Duds? Even the worst MCU movies were still viewed by both audiences and critics on a positive rating, and indeed out-rates a good number of cbms from other studios. Wonder Woman was still closer to an MCU movie in tone and balance than it was to previous DCEU movies. And yes, the MCU doesn't have anything like Aquaman because (duh) they haven't made an underwater superhero movie yet but again the tone of the movie still seems more inline with MCU movies than previous DCEU movies.

And I didn't mean to sound as condescending as I did in that last post. It's just that the MCU gets too much credit for "inventing" the quest based story and the light hearted action movie. DC is definately going "lighter" but that's really only because Snyder is gone, not necessarily because of the MCU.

I always kind of thought Zorro and Flash Gordon invented the superhero movie. Possibly Green Hornet or the Shadow. Maybe Robin Hood.. or The Three Musketeers.. or so many other possibilities.
