In a similar vein of the new Halloween film, what's a horror film that should get a sequel where a large amount of time has elapsed between them? Personally, and only because he actually just recently mentioned in, I'd like to see what happened after JC's The Thing 1984. It left ambiguous who was the alien and who wasn't, plus there was an end credit scene where we see the dog running in the snow. Surely someone would have responded if a base goes down as it did. Would love for them to find a way to move away from the Antarctic region.

Corrections, it wasn't an end credit scene. It was a deleted scene that the TV edit would only show. But you saw the aftermath of the camp burned and a dog just runs off. No one was following it or anything and I think the assumption is, is that it's the Thing.

I think they made the right choice by making the prequel instead. If you want to see what happens next its in the comic

Jaws 5. Hear me out, we're in an age where nostalgia fueled sequels can actually be good and most of the designated classics in all popular genres (action, horror, scifi, fantasy) can be better handled than some Cannon cashgrab in the 80s.

'Hellraiser 4.' Clive Barker wrote a sequel to 'Hellraiser III: Hell On Earth' that takes place in the original timeline of the first three movies which continued on to each other back to back and has Kirsty as the main star teaming up with Pinhead (whose good side wins over his evil side) to destroy all the other puzzle boxes and defeat the other Cenobites including the other Cenobites from the first two movies which return. If they get Ashley Laurence back as Kirsty it could work and may even be enough to get Doug Bradley back on board if they give Clive Barker control over the movie. They could use the title 'Hellraiser 4' and ignore the events of all the other 'Hellraiser' movies returning the franchise back to its roots and giving fans a proper 'Hellraiser' movie with Kirsty, Pinhead and the Cenobites as the main focus again instead of being in the background.
I would also love to see a sequel of 'A Nightmare On Elm Street' which continues on to 'A Nightmare On Elm Street 5' with Lisa Wilcox returning as Alice and another 'Friday the 13th' movie that continues on to 'Jason Lives' with Tommy.

My Bloody Valentine is the only one I can think of, that Iāve seen. Even if I name any other movie, Iām almost guaranteed it has a sequel already.

It is funny you mention that one 'cause I come across this a few months back and it turns out there was going to be a sequel but it never happened. By the way, did you see the remake with Jensen Ackles out of 'Supernatural?' Yes, Iāve seen the My Bloody Valentine remake. Itās on par with the original for me. In fact I might actually prefer it slightly. Both are good, but the twist in the original hasnāt aged well.

Both are good, but the twist in the original hasnāt aged well. I absolutely despise the remake of MBV. There was nothing about it that rated with me. The film was flatly lit, the acting was crap and there was no genuine suspense. It is perhaps the worst millennial horror remake I have seen. Oh yeah, and The Fog, which is perhaps even worse. To each its own. I donāt mind it.

It would have been interesting to have seen what the sequel would have been like if it had been made but I don't think it will happen now and if it does it won't be the one mentioned in the interview above. What confuses me is why Paramount brought the sequel John Dunning wrote but never used it or gave it back to him when they decided they didn't want it anymore and it is like they thought it was good and were worried he would release it under another name and have success with it. I have heard of studios doing that with other movie scripts too and record labels do it to albums and songs artists and bands record and they have to take it to court to get them back which in some cases have taken them years.

What did you think of Jensen Ackles in it Toasted Cheese? Are you a fan of 'Supernatural' and are watching Season 14 with Dean possessed by the Archangel, Michael from the alternate universe?

Pretty much all successful horror films of the 70s and 80s had sequels. One I can think of would be The Sentinel (1977), and Jeffrey Konvitz did write a novel sequel called The Guardian. But I think the movie The Sentinel wasn't really a big enough hit to warrant a sequel.
As for slashers, perhaps Happy Birthday To Me?

Gremlins with original cast and Joe Dante to direct. No cgi gremlins.
