Pros - The Spider-Man costume looks great It’s in color and sound
Cons - Why is Paul Giamatti here? Why is ghost Denis Leary here? The writing isn’t very good. I never really cared to know what happened to Peter’s parents. The sequence on the airplane is stunningly bland. Do we really care about Aunt May working at the hospital again? Electro’s motivation for hating Spider-Man is? Harry becoming Green Goblin feels more obligatory then natural. Peter and Gwen’s constant on-off relationship. Fucking yawn. Desperate to set up sequels we will also now never see. The trailers treated Rhino as a major character. Yeah, just kidding.

Pros:
-At least it's not a rehash like the first
-I liked Dane DeHaan
Cons:
-literally anything involving Electro
-it wasn't a rehash, but it did repeat 3's mistakes of way too many plots and a schizophrenic tone
-Spider-Cullen continues to be a stalkerish, too-cool-for-school douche
-you recreate Gwen's death, only to zap what really made it tragic (Spidey himself kills her from whiplash) and change her death to a head bonk? Also, webhand
-too much hi-larious improv(?) that goes on forever
-we could have had our fifth Raimi movie instead

Pros: -Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone's chemistry -At least it has heart -Electro being blue was like in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics
Cons: -Too many plot points (which also lead to plotholes) -Green Goblin and Rhino -Too rushed and felt tempted to create a cinematic uni

Pros: It has the best-looking Spider-Man costume in my opinion. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone's chemistry Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborne Hans Zimmer's musical score Spider-Man's fight with Electro in Times Square
Cons: Max Dillon/Electro's poor motivation for hating Spider-Man Too many subplots and too many characters Felicia Hardy in a thankless role Forced world-building with setting up The Sinister Six Peter Parker's parents were never essential to the comics For some reason, I felt nothing when Gwen Stacy died. They foreshadowed it too much with Peter's hallucinations and the trailers spoiled the surprise.

Pros:
- the action scenes are better handled
- The Times Square confrontation with Electro is tense.
- Garfield and Stone still have great chemistry together
- Dane DeHaan really isn't that bad as Harry Osborn; Green Goblin though? That's an embarassment.
- Electro's theme song is actually pretty catchy.
Cons:
- There's no real plot, more like an outline.
- Felicity Jones' nothing role as Black Cat's alter ego.
- Paul Giamatti seems like he's having fun but he's only in two scenes.
- The manufactured subplot about Gwen Stacy moving to England (or was it a scholarship?) Whatever. Who...the...hell...cares...?
- The lame mystery surrounding Peter Parker's parents. Nobody cares.
- Practically everything else about Electro. His comically stereotypical 'nerd' personality; his vague motivation; his Blue Man design. He feels like a henchman with delusions of grandeur who typically gets bumped off in the second act. Only they forgot to add a central villain for the 3rd act so they got stuck with him.
-Which brings us to Chris Cooper being utterly wasted as Norman Osborn.
- The whole setup bullshit for the Sinister Six that never happened in this series.
....overall the entire movie really seems like the Marvel equivalent to Batman versus Superman in retrospect. A trailer for a franchise that forgot to have an actual story or real stakes. 4/10.
