At the risk of being snobby...
The poster child is Armageddon. Equinox is a very poor film, IMO. Hopscotch? What is particularly great or noteworthy about this movie? Bull Durham? Very good movie, but noteworthy? Not really.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button It’s hilarious how many used copies of this film are on ebay. Good selection there... There are a lot of films they choose that I’d have to believe would only be viewed once by even the most “artsy” folks out there. I’m thankful that criterion exists though. When they do release a favorite of mine they are usually loaded with great extras.

Equinox is a very poor film, IMO. Hey...hey..it's a historically important film. One of the only indie FX films to get theatrical distribution. Unique for the 1960s.

Calling yourself a snob allows you to feign you have wealth or a high social standing which is hilarious.

These movies have their share of fans so no harm in appealing to them. You don't have to buy or pay attention to what the studio puts out.

They've made some odd additions to the collection over the years, but overall I'm glad of the majority of the work they've chosen to preserve.

So…what's wrong with Bull Durham? I love Bull Durham. And although I would welcome a Criterion edition, I'm having a hard time understanding what criteria was used to select it. It's a good film, but not a noteworthy one. It was neither a smash box office success nor a critical one. Maybe it's just a good film they were able to get the rights to. Or maybe it's because it introduced people to the poetry of William Blake. Who knows? Whatever the reason that lead them to include it in the collection, as a fan of the movie, I'm glad it's there.
