Pros - Emma Stone is very easy on the eyes Denis Leary Martin Sheen and Sally Fields Less bloated then Spider-Man 3
Cons - To rehash the origin story seems unnecessary. Radioactive spider > Captain Willard gets killed. Got it! The Lizard looks kind of goofy Brilliant scientist Curt Connor's plan is to turn NYC into lizard people. Andrew Garfield was 29 when this movie was released. Tobey was 27 when the first movie was released in 2002.

Pros: Andrew Garfield was decent as Spider-Man Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Conners/the Lizard Good supporting roles from Denis Leary, Sally Field, and Martin Sheen Stan Lee's cameo appearance Spider-Man's fight with the Lizard at the high school James Horner's musical score
Cons: A needless re-telling of the first Spider-Man film It has a really bad Spider-Man costume Garfield's hipster portrayal as Peter Parker Uncle Ben's death was handled poorly. He essentially died over chocolate milk. The Lizard looks too humanoid. I wish they gave him a longer snout. Peter Parker's parents were never essential to Spider-Man's origin story. I like what they're going for, though.
Neither a pro or a con, but the Lizard's plan to turn everyone into lizards was too comic book-y, but I was okay with it.

Pros:
- The web swinging scenes are improved.
- Emma Stone is excellent.
- I actually liked the Lizard's powers.
- the movie showing Peter Parker inventing and testing out his gadgets.
- I liked the crane scene. Sue me.
- Denis Leary is actually pretty solid as George Stacy.
- Flash Thompson is not a complete dick to Peter.
Cons:
- The movie completely shits on the significance of Uncle Ben's death and just throws in the "with great power comes great responsibility" theme.
- The plot is a lazy rehash of the first two Raimi movies.
- The Lizard's motivation is rushed and vague;like there are scenes missing.
- What happened to Irrfan Khan? He disappears after the bridge scene.
- Sally Field wasted as Aunt May. This seems more like a gig for Celia Weston or Alison Janney.

Pros:
-Garfield and Stone's chemistry
-Gwen is more likable than MJ
-the scene where Peter tries to use the bathroom with his powers for the first time is amusing
Cons:
-complete rehash of the 2002 film, down to green scientist villain
-too cool for school, Twilight-haired, skater bro Peter Parker
-Uncle Ben dies over chocolate milk. And he says "with great power comes great responsibility" all stupid
-introducing a mystery over Peter's parents and then not resolving it

The Spider-Man character is overrated as I honestly don't see the higher appeal of that character even though I acknowledge the characters popularity.
p.s. I have seen the Tobey Maguire movies and the movie in the topic but I stopped watching after the one in the topic because I just realized that character is simply not appealing enough to output a movie that's worth re-watching for me and, like I always say, a movies true worth is whether it's a movie I want to re-watch from time-to-time as the years pass or not.
