Looks pretty good. Really digging the casting choices of Jason Clarke and John Lithgow. But what's up with those kids in the animal costumes? Was that in the book? I haven't read it since back when I was in junior high many years ago so I don't remember.

Can't see it being another IT box office wise but it might do just alright.

The 1989 movie is perfect and you can't improve upon perfection. This remake is pointless.

It doesn't look as good as I hoped it would. Creepy child cult aside it almost looks like the same movie. I was hoping it would be more like the book this time around.

I haven't read it since back when I was in junior high many years ago so I don't remember. Kids weren't in the book. This looks generic 2010s horror movie, which is bad. Yet...something about the trailer makes me think it's got a chance to be decent.

The 1989 movie is perfect and you can't improve upon perfection. This remake is pointless. I would say it was far from perfect, in spite of some good sequences. The atmosphere was a bit off or wrong for my liking. It didn't really seem to capture the spookiness or creepiness of King's macabre tale and lost some of its essence. The 2 main leads had no real chemistry either. Fred Gwynne was perfect casting though. I must disagree with you here. I felt that the '89 film did a fantastic job of capturing the novel's aura and had absolutely no issues with the casting. In fact, I dare say it's my favourite SK adaption from the 80s.

Even that shoddy animated demon face that appears by the cliff for now reason? I don't remember that. When did this happen? ...at around 7:20. It's not really a demon face, like I remembered it (it's been a while), but it is indeed a really bad effect that the movie would be better off without.

It looks like it will follow the same path as the original in tone and atmosphere. Can’t wait for this one. I agree with HorrorMetal that the kids in the animal masks caught me off guard since they weren’t in the ‘89 film, but it might’ve been in the book so it would make sense if that were the case.

Still doesn't detract from what is a great movie in my view.

All I see is another movie that didn't need to be remade. Just another sign (of many) of Hollywood's lack of creativity.
