Glad that you asked,
Store Brand instant (depending on the store) UNLESS the National Brand is on sale for at least within the ballpark price of the Store Brand. The National Brands are pretty much over-rated by most of the population so I rate the National Brand only 7.0 / 10 because most people prefer them and secretly so do I but I would hate to agree with most of the population.
Am astonished that you didn't ask the most important question. Chocolate !
LOVE these scintillating, world shaking threads. Well done !

I haven't eaten pudding in years. But as a kid, I always preferred the cook it yourself stuff (made by Jello, I think) that comes as powder in a box.
Vanilla was the best flavor.

@forceghostackbar BUT with the instant you get to put it all in that special container thingy (that you got for free if you bought 10 boxes at the same time) (whose lid always seems to go on crooked) and shake-shake-shake the pudding. Burn off all of those calories you are about to consume when you slurp the pudding. 'sides .. I always manage to burn the cook-it-yourself ones ~ Vanilla ? No way ! Chocolate is the only way to go ! and maybe butterscotch !

Vanilla is king! Tapioca is better still!

Catwoman prefers vanilla. Catman prefers chocolate. So Catman alternates what he prepares.

@forceghostackbar Tapioca …. now we're talkin' ! AND it must be cooked from scratch ! ditto Rice Pudding =- from scratch and with raisins ! Results in a feeling of having died and gone immediately to heaven !

I tasted chocolate pudding once almost 30 years ago. I did not like it and have not eaten it since.

I think the last time I had pudding was when I was about 16, after I had my wisdom teeth removed. That was 40 years ago.

Feologild Oakes There's a fruit flavored pudding here called "Danish Dessert" … is there similar in Norway ? It's usually raspberry or red current and comes in a box ~~ a powder you mix with water and cook, stirring constantly. It's quite good !

My Norwegian aunt used to made rice-pudding homemade—best rice pudding there is, accept no substitutes. Sometimes my mom made pudding homemade… Not often, though. (She’d always do and still always does chicken soup homemade—just made it recently, in fact!) But usually it was the store brand you had to cook—even if, like BATouttaheck , when I was watching it I always managed to burn it on the bottom!

Yes there is but its not called Danish its called "Vienna bread or breads from Vienna" i am not sure how to translate the Norwegian word for it but i think Vienna bread is the best way to translate it. The Norwegian word for it is Wienerbrød

Feologild Oakes Weinerbrod is a sweet bread / roll . We have them too and call them "Danishes" Danish dessert is a pudding that you eat from a dish or use as a topping on cake etc.
