Twilight Zone is probably one of the best examples, agreed.
A lot of the old time one hour Westerns would sometimes mimic movies. Bronco had a Seven Samurai-Mag 7 episode in "4 Men and a Prayer".
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea used footage from a film in which David Hedison whipped a dinosaur for an episode about the same theme. Well, he didn't really "whip" the dinosaur. He jumped on a log that wedged a rock that knocked down a ledge that let lava flow over the dinosaur.
