bud47 Btw, Jessica Chastain’s character description sounds like an imperial guard member. im not liking it at all. What’s the problem?

Vassaggo He was literally saying if the MCU redid Dark Phoenix and included the elements Fox “left out” then audience would think it’s a new storyline. My point is that part was never left out because it was never there I wasn't replying to him. I was replying to your comment: Most of us know the narrative arc of The Phoenix Saga and The Dark Phoenix Saga. People want to see things in this movie that isn't in the The Dark Phoenix Saga Comic, mainly we want to see some of the Phoenix Saga in the beginning of this movie In X2 we only got a few minutes throughout the movie with The Phoenix Force. Her making the tvs flicker on the field trip, diverting the water around the the X-Jet, her lifting the X-jet, and finally the Phoenix under water. That is all we got of The Phoenix Saga in X2. We only get 3 minutes or so of The Phoenix in Apocalypse. It's like Fox doesn't know how to adapt The Phoenix Saga so they skip it and go straight into The Dark Phoenix Saga. Now there has been 10 years skipped. We probably are not going to get a lot of scenes showing the 10 years pass. We probably won't see Jean testing out her new powers. (new for us, but 10 years old for her. They will have to come up with some reasons for her to demonstrate her powers in story) I doubt if we will see Jean fighting for control, training, challenging her limits of power, being herself around the other kids at the school, showing affection to Scott. Basically I believe we will miss the beginning of Jean's power growth to the 10 year gap. I would say about half her arc from decent telekinetic and telepathic mutant to damn near Godhood will be lost in the 10 year gap. And I don't think they will show us any of that. The decade jumping made us miss Jean getting comfortable with her powers. How she moved from scared of them to comfortable with them in the beginning to confident after a year or two. I almost would like to see a movie based off what happened in that gap of time. I think Fox missed a lot of interesting stories because of the decade jumping. .The only way Fox can catch the audience up is either flashbacks or montages. The studio will want the plot to push Jean becoming Dark Phoenix pretty quickly. I don't think they will spend to much time establishing Jean as the Phoenix. The first 10 minutes of the film should be Jean using her Phoenix Force to stop a Mutant. After she stops him Jean loses control of her powers making them flair up and damaged the mutant. Afterwards when Scott comes to her she will be half scared half thrilled at how powerful she's getting. My hope is the first 1/3 of the movie is mini a Phoenix Saga and they fill in her character. Now the crux of this post. I don't think there is a need for you to tell us if our hypotheticals , references, and/or suggestions of plot points we'd like to see is in the comic book or not. I think most of us at a minimum know whats in these 2 arcs. (we just don't care if the ideas/scenes are part of the DPS comics or part of PS comics.) We are just looking for a good movie adaptation of both PS and DPS. If writers have to use something from another comic run or story arc for the movie to work,I say have at it. At this point with all that's gone wrong in the XMU continuity they shouldn't have to hold themselves to just one Arc for inspiration. We shouldn't care if the Starjammers show up in Dark Phoenix just because they didn't show up in the comics the movie get's it's inspiration from. Hopefully we will get something original, but with ties to multiple source materials. Examples:

Tell that to the MCU fans who keep saying they are scared that Dark Phoneix will ruin Disneys future attempt at remaking the story line So you're content with Fox most likely ruining it for a second time, as long as Disney doesn't get their hands on it? Sony ruined Spider-Man and he was in the MCU only 2 years later. Fox ruined Fantastic Four after how many failed attempts? You think that will stop them? How do you know they wouldn't give the Dark Phoenix saga a similar treatment as Infinity War, a film you actually liked (for the most part)? From what we've seen, there's plenty Fox will leave out (the Shi'Ar, Imperial Guard, Hellfire Club, the Phoenix Saga, Starjammers, etc.) that when the MCU re-does it, after taking the necessary time to properly build it up years from now, people will probably think it's a brand new storyline. Disney will get there hands on it in a few years, but Id rather see Foxs version of adapting the source rather than Disneys any day of the week. Disney cannot take things like Ragnarok and Ultron seriously or make an accurately competent Civil War or Spiderman flick. They got away with it for Infinity War without using Mistress Death but I don't trust them to make the Dark/Phoenix arc faithful to both the tone and the visual ornaments of the original. It requires heavy handed storytelling, similar to Logan and DOFP, which Disney simply is not capable of and Infinity War could not get close to them. We don't know what race the aliens are. There is a possibility the Imperial Guard is in the film as Daniel Cudmore has been rumoured to play Gladiator. Jessica Chastain is playing the role of the Hellfire club. You don't need to build up anything. 2 films is enough.

Why would that mess up any future MCU movie using the X-men? By now people know which movies are in the MCU and which aren't. Tell that to the MCU fans who keep saying they are scared that Dark Phoneix will ruin Disneys future attempt at remaking the story line I think they'll be okay. They'll most likely build to it if they do it. But there are lots of stories they can do. Sinister, Mojo (Hunger Games?) Arcade... They can do Phoenix like they do Hulk. Through all the movies.

Honestly I rather Marvel Studios do other X-Men stories that we haven't seen adapted yet.
Hell I rather see Savage land than another Dark Phoenix reboot!

Or even have it end like DoFP. Show where the X-men will be now with everything all good. Since, you know, this is the last X-men movie and they might want to give it closure.

X-Force would be the last X-Men film assuming that Kevin Feige wants to rush to produce a MCU X-Men movie, which would probably be a bad idea to do right now since it would be a rehash of the recent First Class trilogy.

That's really sad to hear. That means thousands of Fox employees will lose their jobs right before the holidays. It's already bad enough that they're going to lose their jobs. But now they're going to lose their jobs and their kids will go hungry right before what should be the most wonderful time of the year, just so MCU Dictator Kevin Feige and MCU fans can get X-Men and Fantastic Four into MCU as quickly as they can. www.comicbookmovie.com/x-men/with-the-fox-disney-merger-set-to-be-completed-sooner-than-expected-heres-what-it-might-mean-for-the-mcu-a164055 The sad reality is that while we're all getting excited about seeing The Avengers in the same world as the Fantastic Four and X-Men, thousands of Fox employees are about to lose their jobs.

Ah so you've moved on from valiant no tolerance crusader against pedophilia to concerned employment advocate, huh? Nice concern trolling. For the record, I think it's terrible people are losing jobs over this. Considering FOX were the ones selling, I see it more as their fault unlike the "BRUTAL DICTATORSHIP DISNEY BRINGS RUIN TO POOR DEFENCELESS EMPLOYEES" narrative you're now pushing. Are you going to bring this up years later when we get the first MCU X/F4 film or will you have moved on to another trolling fad by then?
